Chapter 631
Tiffany was alone in the lounge. She'd secretly arranged for John to bring Morwen back, unbeknownst to Richard. Her presence in the lounge was merely a pretense; she intended to use the restroom.
She sat on the sofa, frowning slightly. Richard's strange behavior at the wedding, while not overtly suspicious, was peculiar enough to warrant concern. She had no choice but to confront Morwen. A relief would wash over her if her fears were unfounded, but what if they weren't?
Two knocks sounded on the door.
"Come in," she said.
John entered with Morwen. He nodded respectfully. "Madam, I've brought her."
"Thank you. Guard the door outside," Tiffany instructed.
"Yes, Madam," John replied, and left.
The door closed, leaving the lounge silent. Morwen, shivering from the cold, lay unceremoniously on the floor. Despite her discomfort, seeing Tiffany, her face lit up with a wide, ostentatious smile. "I knew you wouldn't dare let me die," she declared confidently.
Tiffany offered a faint smile, leaning back lazily. "Oh, are you so sure? Why so sure? Just because I had someone retrieve you doesn't mean I can't dispose of you again."
Morwen smiled confidently. "You wouldn't dare. If you kill me, Richard won't be able to live either. Our lives are connected; we'll live and die together."
Pride filled Morwen's face. Her eyes fixed on Tiffany, searching for panic or jealousy. "So what if you've become Mrs. Hampton? You won't defeat me."
Morwen expected tears, a scene, anger—anything but the calm composure Tiffany displayed. Tiffany smiled playfully, regarding Morwen as if she were a fool.
Morwen was dumbfounded. Impossible. Shouldn't Tiffany be angry and jealous? Unable to comprehend Tiffany's reaction, she said, "Tiffany, if you know what's good for you, let me go. Otherwise when I replace you, I won't let you go."
Morwen remained cautious, mentioning only the connection between her life and Richard's, avoiding the Double Love Potion and its effects. This was her secret weapon, one she couldn't reveal prematurely. If Tiffany confined her, the consequences would be dire.
Morwen suppressed her excitement, waiting for Tiffany's next move.
Unexpectedly, Tiffany asked casually, "You drugged him with the Double Love Potion?"
It wasn't a question, but a statement. Morwen was astonished. Why is her guess correct? I didn't reveal anything!
Tiffany ignored Morwen's expression, touching her chin thoughtfully. "No," she murmured, "You had access to Richard. You didn't drug him. Someone else did"
Again, Tiffany was right. Morwen thought, I didn't say anything. Her expression changed.
Kenneth had given Morwen the Double Love Potion. They'd made a deal: Morwen would use it to win Richard, and Kenneth would use the opportunity to win Tiffany back.
Morwen worried, If Kenneth discovers Tiffany knows, what will he do? He'll suspect me, and the Harper family will stop helping me.
Regaining her composure, Morwen sneered. "You're sharp. But it's futile. There's no antidote to the Double Love Potion."
Once someone was poisoned, it fused with their body, connected to their bloodline and fate. Only death could free them. This is why Morwen was so confident. Tiffany wouldn't dare kill her.
Tiffany sighed, her eyebrows knitting together in a subtle display of conflict. Then, she smiled radiantly. Her eyes shone with dazzling vibrancy.
"It's tricky, but not impossible," Tiffany replied casually. "The Double Love Potion is extinct, but Miracle Healer has another way to restrain it."
"Miracle Healer?" Morwen was stunned. Then she sneered. "You think you can ask Miracle Healer for help? What a joke?"
Miracle Healer was legendary, capable of curing even the most dire conditions. They were said to be immune to all toxins and their poisons were lethal. However, they rarely appeared, and their services were unpredictable, sometimes free, sometimes exorbitantly priced.
How could Tiffany possibly summon them?
Morwen thought Tiffany was daydreaming. She curled her lip. "Stop dreaming. Only Miracle Healer can detoxify the Double Love Potion, but at an exorbitant cost—your blood. Even if you summoned her, would she sacrifice half her life for you?"
There was another way—using a person immune to all toxins in a blood exchange. It was extremely dangerous but would grant the recipient immunity. Everyone desired such a physique. Even if feasible, Miracle Healer would sacrifice much of her strength.
"Good self-awareness," Morwen said, full of ridicule. "Beg me, and I might let you go. Otherwise…"
Tiffany smiled slowly. "What if I say I am Miracle Healer?" she said indifferently.
Morwen was stunned, then laughed. "Funny! You? Shameless! You're Azure Sea's princess, but Miracle Healer? What a joke!"
