Chapter 644
Tiffany, amused by the thought, retracted her hand in agreement and nodded. "Alright, I have no objections." She wanted to be with Richard for the rest of her life, a decision she wouldn't change. Nothing could shake their mutual determination.
Tiffany smiled brightly, her eyes crinkling in a way that touched Richard's heart. She teased, "Excuse me, Mr. Hampton. Can I go to school now?"
Richard looked at her lovingly. "Sure, Mrs. Hampton."
Their luxury car pulled up to the entrance of Lovell School. Before Tiffany exited, she was kissed again. After a few minutes, Richard reluctantly let go. "I'll pick you up in the afternoon."
"Okay," Tiffany nodded, exiting the car and entering the school.
Upon returning to campus, the whispers about her wedding followed her. More people than before paid attention, and Tiffany vaguely heard snippets of their conversations:
"Hey guys, did you hear about the wedding the day before yesterday? It shocked the whole city! It was so extravagant!"
"What do you mean? Everyone knows! They say Mr. Hampton spent hundreds of thousands of dollars just on the wedding car!"
"Oh my god, I'm so envious! Tiffany is so lucky!"
"Right."
Tiffany walked casually, the voices fading into the background. Others assumed she couldn't hear them and gossiped freely. But Tiffany's hearing was sharp; she couldn't help but overhear.
Raising her eyebrows, she headed straight for the classroom. Halfway there, she bumped into Kenneth.
Stunned for a moment, she said lazily, "Long time no see. How's school?"
Kenneth, equally surprised, stepped back about seven feet before smiling. "Congratulations."
Tiffany was taken aback. "W-what did you say?"
Kenneth smiled and repeated, "Congratulations. Didn't you get married two days ago?"
Tiffany nodded calmly, cleared her throat, and smiled. "Thank you, Kenneth."
Kenneth thought, This is the end of us, right?
They stared at each other for a few seconds before laughing. Kenneth raised his eyebrows, accepting their marriage. It was for the best.
He lowered his head, smiling silently. "I came to school today to take my exams early. Once the results are out, I can graduate early."
"That's great," Tiffany nodded. Given his responsibilities with the Harper family and his academic standing, early graduation wasn't surprising.
Tiffany waved. "I've got to go. You should get to your work, too."
"Bye." Kenneth smiled gently, the same gentle smile she remembered from their first meeting. He looked like a teenager, but the light in his eyes, once so bright, had dimmed slightly.
Tiffany smiled. "Bye."
Their encounter was brief, lasting only a minute or two. Kenneth remained rooted to the spot for a long time before turning.
Walking along the path, Tiffany's figure was radiant in the sunlight. The wind blew her hair, swaying her elegant dress. Kenneth's eyes darkened, and he sighed. "Goodbye."
He meant it. They might meet again, but next time, he'd suppress his lingering feelings. He thought bitterly, So… Tiffany, the girl I let down, regretted, and loved but dared not to love… goodbye.
He turned and strode away.
Tiffany had just reached the classroom when Zoe joyfully pounced on her. "Tiffany! I missed you SO much!"
Tiffany smiled wryly. "We haven't seen each other for a day and twenty hours."
Zoe immediately replied, "It shows how much I love you."
Tiffany was speechless. She'd invited Zoe and Abbie to her wedding, but Abbie was filming overseas. However, Zoe, who was in Lovell City, hadn't attended!
Tiffany sat down, her expression scrutinizing. "Zoe, something's wrong with you."
"What's wrong with me?" Zoe asked innocently. "Nothing's wrong."
Tiffany's eyes darkened. "Then why didn't you come to my wedding the day before yesterday?"
Zoe explained, "I was busy. Um, I was too embarrassed to go."
Tiffany's voice turned cold. "Tell me the truth."
Under Tiffany's gaze, Zoe instantly confessed. Her excited demeanor vanished. She lowered her head and whispered, "I didn't dare to go."
Tiffany pressed, "Why wouldn't you dare?"
"I…" Zoe lowered her head further.
Zoe had been excited to receive the invitation, even buying a new dress. But on her way to the wedding, she saw Sidney and instinctively avoided him. She didn't want—didn't dare—to see him.
Sitting beside Tiffany, Zoe whispered, "Tiffany, I'll tell you, but you have to keep it a secret, okay?"
"Alright," Tiffany agreed.
Zoe said, "I didn't go because I didn't dare to meet Sidney. To avoid embarrassment, I… I didn't go to your wedding. I'm sorry, Tiffany."
Tiffany grasped the core issue. "Zoe, why are you hiding from him? What did he do to you?" She thought, That doesn't make sense. I trust Sidney. He wouldn't do anything outrageous.
Zoe's voice softened. "He didn't do anything to me. It's just… I don't want to have anything to do with him anymore. I don't want… I don't want others to misunderstand."
Tiffany recognized Zoe's vulnerability and inferiority complex. "It's alright. Don't overthink it. Besides, he's good, but you're not bad yourself."
"Tiffany, I know. You don't need to comfort—"
