Chapter 665

Jeffrey thought, "At a time like this, I can't let a reckless little girl ruin my chance to network with these important people." These business bigwigs were hurrying toward him with excited expressions. Were they this happy to attend his project launch?

Jeffrey was beside himself with excitement and flattered. The tables had turned! Previously, these same people had ignored him. Now, with his profitable project, they were eager to build relationships.

He wanted to show off, but only managed a small smile as he approached the enthusiastic group. As he reached out to shake hands, the nearest big shot walked right past him.

Jeffrey was stunned. "Is this person blind?" he thought. He tried another, but that person brushed past his shoulder without a glance.

Jeffrey's expression cracked. "What the hell," he thought. "These people don't know what's good for them."

His frustration mounted until he saw Tyson, accompanied by bodyguards, jogging toward him, seemingly excited but short of breath.

"Mr. Evans, nice to meet you," Jeffrey said, this time grabbing Tyson's hand before he could react.

Tyson, preoccupied with chasing Tiffany, was annoyed at being interrupted. He stared at Jeffrey with disdain. "Who are you?"

Another blow to Jeffrey's ego. He felt like he was about to explode. "Mr. Evans, you're really forgetful. Don't you recognize me? I'm Jeffrey Kelley."

Tyson still didn't recognize him. Jeffrey gritted his teeth. "Charlie is my brother-in-law. He introduced us last week. Remember now?" (He avoided using Charlie's name unless necessary.)

Seeing Tiffany surrounded by people, Tyson finally remembered Jeffrey, but he quickly shook off Jeffrey's hand. "Oh, please say hello to Charlie for me," he said dismissively, then rushed toward Tiffany.

Completely ignored, Jeffrey had a mental breakdown. This was his event, the big shots he had invited. He'd planned to cultivate relationships, freeing himself from his dependence on Charlie. Instead, they didn't know who he was, ignoring him completely.

Enraged, he saw the very people he'd been fawning over obsequiously surrounding a young girl. He couldn't take it anymore.

Approaching aggressively, he raised his voice. "Everyone, don't be fooled by this girl! I don't know where she came from, but she said I'll die young! I was about to throw her out!"

His passionate outburst was met with stunned silence. He saw sympathy in their eyes, and they began to discuss him.

"What a pity. He's not even fifty. He'll die too young." "Yeah, yeah."

Tyson, having recently faced life-or-death, felt sympathy. He patted Jeffrey's shoulder. "Don't overthink it. Everyone has their day."

"What the hell are they talking about?" Jeffrey thought, his face twisting. "Mr. Evans, Mr. Cohen, what I said was a lie! I'm perfectly healthy!"

They nodded. "Regardless, it's about 80-90%. It's either today or tomorrow. While you're still breathing, enjoy yourself."

Jeffrey was at a loss, questioning his very existence.

After expressing their sympathy, the big shots turned to Tiffany, eagerly vying for her attention. "Miss Wood, please examine me! I have headaches and tinnitus."

Tiffany, operating as the "Miracle Healer" Jacqueline Wood, was now worshipped.

"Miss Wood, can you check my leg? It hurts no matter what I do!" "Miss Wood, my doctor said I need kidney surgery. Can you treat me?"

These successful businessmen were now humble before her. They had money and fame, but lacked health. Without health, wealth was meaningless.

Tiffany smiled faintly. "First, come, first served."

Everyone breathed a sigh of relief. Tyson, the most devout, personally fetched a stool, wiping it clean. "Miss Wood, please sit."

Tiffany examined each big shot, diagnosing ailments with remarkable accuracy. She performed acupuncture where possible; one man, who'd complained of leg pain, immediately ran 100 yards pain-free after treatment. For others, she prescribed rare, expensive spirit herbs (selling for two million dollars on the black market).

These businessmen weren't stingy. They doubled their offered fees, resulting in over forty million dollars in checks for Tiffany after a half-hour consultation. All were satisfied, their worries eased.

Finally, Tiffany glanced at Jeffrey and smiled. "Next, it's Mr. Kelley's turn."
