Chapter 669
Molly felt aggrieved, but Jeffrey sided with Daisy, saying indifferently, “You’re back, so what’s the point of dwelling on the past? She’s your sister. Do you want her to die?”
Molly was speechless. She thought, All I want is Daisy’s apology. However, she did something wrong and yet remains self-righteous and unashamed. I almost got ruined because of her. Is it too much to ask for an apology?
Daisy became even more unrestrained after hearing Jeffrey’s words. She even made a face and shook her head smugly.
“I shouldn’t have come back,” Molly said. She let go of Jeffrey’s hand and walked out without looking back. Jeffrey almost fell, losing her support. He steadied himself and scolded angrily, “You ungrateful daughter! Do you have the guts to leave? Don’t ever come back!”
Daisy preferred her sister never return.
“Dad, did you hear what I told you? I don’t have any new clothes to wear. They’re all ugly. How am I supposed to wear them out?”
“Buy, buy,” Jeffrey responded. His eyes grew serious. “Daisy, go to Aunt Thalia’s house tomorrow and invite her out. You must invite her, no matter how you do it.”
“Why?” Daisy didn’t understand. “Aunt Thalia scolded me last time. I don’t like her.”
“Just go. Don’t ask questions. I’m doing this for your good and our family.”
“Alright…” Daisy reluctantly agreed.
After acting coquettishly, she received money from Jeffrey and happily went shopping for clothes. She was still thinking about the news; she needed to dress up and appear before Richard, making the high-and-mighty man fall for her.
The news exploded in popularity. Perhaps due to gossip, the mystery surrounding Miracle Healer was slowly unveiled. Reactions were mixed.
One criticism was that Miracle Healer’s spirit herbs were overpriced, mocked as benefiting only the rich. However, others claimed her pricing depended on her mood, often providing free help to the poor.
Outsiders often judged by appearances; the controversy grew. Tiffany remained unaware, as Richard carried her into his inner office and they spent time together.
Tiffany slept for over half an hour before showering. When she emerged, Richard sat at his desk, working. Tiffany clicked her tongue, admiring his attire. His aura and the way he'd treated her earlier were stark opposites, but she liked him.
Tiffany smiled and approached. She had changed from her tight-fitting dress into the one she'd left there. The light color made her skin look translucent and smooth.
Richard pulled her onto his lap. He played with her hair, saying, “You’re not allowed to wear that tight-fitting dress.”
“Why?” Tiffany asked, blinking curiously. “Doesn’t it look good?”
It’s not that it’s ugly, but it’s too beautiful. Countless eyes will be on her, Richard thought.
He pinched her nose. “It looks good, but it’s enough for you to wear it for me.”
Tiffany smiled and whispered in his ear, “Sure.” She drew out the last syllable, looking seductive.
Richard’s Adam’s apple bobbed. His eyes smiled. “Little girl, you did that on purpose.”
“What on purpose?” Tiffany asked innocently.
“You’re deliberately distracting me. You little minx.” He scooped her into his arms.
They spent the noon together. At 1:30 p.m., Tiffany, hungry, ordered food delivered to Richard's office.
The food arrived quickly. Tyrone carefully delivered it, avoiding eye contact. As he left, he heard, “Tyrone, have you eaten?”
Tyrone ignored her. He lowered his head and bumped into the door. Looking up, he saw a girl on the sofa, reading magazines.
Tyrone was stunned. “Mrs. Hampton?”
Tiffany smiled. “Tyrone, long time no see.”
She was without makeup; Tyrone saw Tiffany, not Miracle Healer. He remembered Miracle Healer hadn't left, wondering why Mrs. Hampton was there. He realized:
Tyrone asked fearfully, “Mrs. Hampton, was the girl in the tight-fitting dress… you?”
“That’s right,” Tiffany said, smiling sweetly and innocently.
Tyrone felt shocked. He thought of the trending news, his body stiffening. The matter has been exposed!
Noticing his distress, Tiffany asked, “Tyrone, what’s wrong?”
“Mrs. Hampton…” Tyrone sobbed. “You should look at the trending searches.”
Tiffany checked her phone, shocked by the headline.
