Chapter 673

This was the first time Thalia truly steeled herself. The lesson from Stan's family was fresh in her mind: repeated tolerance and leniency toward undeserving people only led to betrayal. Thalia decided to let the law handle it and called the police.

Jeffrey was arrested shortly thereafter. Initially, he denied everything. He had gone to the summit of Sanctuary Mountain before dawn, wiping away all traces of his tracks and wearing rubber gloves to avoid leaving fingerprints. Without evidence, the police couldn't act unless he confessed.

However, Jeffrey didn't know the summit was under surveillance. Cameras, installed years ago after a series of accidents, monitored the area. Two cameras were positioned on either side of the mountaintop. This detail was unaccounted for in his plan. The camera footage provided undeniable evidence of his attempted murder.

Charlie, terrified, rushed home from work to ensure his wife and daughter were safe. He was appalled that his brother-in-law, whom he considered family, would try to kill his sister for such a ridiculous reason. He found it utterly deranged.

The day of Jeffrey's arrest, Kaya Ruiz stormed into the Kelley family residence, furiously berating Thalia: "Are you out of your mind? How could you call yourself a Ruiz? How could you send your brother to the police? You need to withdraw the case immediately!" There was no apology, no plea for forgiveness—only an arrogant demand for compliance.

Thalia laughed in exasperation. She realized her past agreeableness might have given people the impression she was easily manipulated. Unwilling to argue with Kaya, she ordered, "Show her out." The staff immediately escorted Kaya from the property.

Outside the gates, Kaya cursed for over two hours. She left only after a phone call informed her that Daisy had been taken in for questioning. Panicked, Kaya rushed to the police station.

Inside the interrogation room, Daisy sat pale and trembling. "I didn't know anything! I swear I didn't!" she insisted. She had been unaware of her father's ulterior motive in bringing Thalia on the hike. Had she known of his murderous intentions, she would never have agreed.

Daisy answered every question truthfully, eager to distance herself from the situation. Though considered an accessory, her role was insignificant. After the interrogation, she was released.

Relieved, Kaya exclaimed, "What should we do now?"

"There's nothing we can do!" Kaya snapped. "Your aunt is heartless and wants to destroy us! We'll have to find someone else to help!"

Daisy's eyes gleamed. "Mom, I have a plan! I'll take care of Dad's situation!"

"What are you going to do?" Kaya asked.

Daisy didn't answer, simply walking away. To save Jeffrey, they needed a powerful ally. Her destination: the Royal Tower.

Before leaving, she meticulously prepared, wearing a tight-fitting dress that accentuated her curves, styling her hair elegantly, and securing it with a pearl clasp. Her appearance bore an unsettling resemblance to Tiffany.

The receptionist, somewhat perplexed, asked, "Who are you here to see?"

"I'm here to see my brother-in-law Mr. Hampton," Daisy smoothly replied.

The receptionist assumed Daisy was Tiffany's family, perhaps addressing online rumors. She almost called for confirmation, but Daisy's persistent chatter persuaded her to grant access.

In the elevator, Daisy checked her makeup, boosting her confidence. Her appearance was deliberately styled to emulate Tiffany. If Richard preferred that type, she believed her beauty could surpass Tiffany's.

The elevator arrived. Chin held high, Daisy stepped out with confidence.

Chapter 673 (Continued)

Coincidentally, Richard and Tyrone emerged from the executive office. Tyrone was outlining the next few days' schedule: "Mr. Hampton, tomorrow evening there's an auction gala. Will you"

"Reject it," Richard replied.

Before Tyrone could continue, he noticed a change in Richard's demeanor—a noticeable chill. He saw Daisy, striking an alluring pose. "Who let her in?" he wondered.

Richard's expression remained cold and unreadable.

Daisy, sensing his gaze, felt her cheeks flush. "Mr. Hampton" she began, her voice soft and seductive.

Richard didn't pause, continuing his stride. Daisy assumed he was approaching her. But then, his cold voice echoed, "Throw her out."

Tyrone immediately nodded and summoned security. Before entering the meeting room, Richard added, "And replace the receptionist."

Moments later, Daisy was ejected. Her protests were ignored. Meanwhile, downstairs, the receptionist excitedly shared a photo of Daisy in the company group chat, sarcastically commenting, "[Mr. Hampton really has a type. Look, a woman claimed to be his sister-in-law.]"
