Chapter 695

Tiffany's ears twitched. She couldn't understand it. Her disguise was flawless, yet Richard had spotted her instantly. It was a devastating blow to her confidence.

"Why?" she asked, keeping her face impassive.

"Because you turned the wrong way when you drove off," Richard replied.

"Just because of that?" Tiffany was stunned. Thinking back, she realized she had indeed made a wrong turn due to her inexperience. She never imagined such a small detail would expose her carefully crafted disguise. One mistake, and it all unravelled.

Feeling vexed, Tiffany turned away. When the light turned green, Richard withdrew his hand, continued driving, and explained, "You made that mistake often during your driving lessons." He'd recognized her immediately, guessing she was in disguise.

"Whatever," Tiffany mumbled, her voice dull.

The driving lesson had been last weekend. Her skills were unsteady; she'd even accidentally damaged a headlight on his limited-edition car. Despite the accident, Richard had been patient, his usually cold face showing indulgence and warmth. It hadn't been long ago, but things had changed; they were distant.

Her gaze dropped, lost in thought. Before she could reflect further, a powerful impact hit the car from behind. Tiffany's body jerked forward, but her seatbelt held her. Richard's strong hand swiftly restrained her. "Are you okay? Did you get hurt?"

His handsome face showed genuine concern, an instinctive reaction.

Tiffany shook her head. "I'm fine." Under his gentle care, the walls she'd built around herself seemed to crumble slightly.

The car that had rear-ended them pulled alongside, and the driver knocked on the window to apologize. "I'm so sorry, I wasn't paying attention. I apologize. Are you okay? Do you want to go to the hospital?"

The middle-aged man, dressed expensively and driving a high-end car, had a sincere expression. He seemed a successful businessman, though not from Lovell City. Tiffany glanced at him then looked away; it wasn't her concern.

Richard directly rejected the man's offer. He wasn't in the mood to waste time and started the car, only to find it malfunctioning due to the impact.

Tiffany rubbed her temples. "I can't tell if it's you or me who's having worse luck," she muttered.

The middle-aged man hadn't left. Seeing her discomfort, he became even more apologetic. "I'm truly sorry, it's all my fault. Are you in a hurry? If you don't mind, you can take my car."

"No, thank you," Richard rejected him calmly. Since they weren't far from Royal Bay, he called for assistance.

With the car broken, Tiffany got out for some fresh air. She noticed a pretty young girl in the other car, her curious gaze fixed on Tiffany. Their eyes met; the girl smiled brightly. But Tiffany felt uncomfortable.

She frowned and looked away.

The middle-aged man explained, "That's my daughter. I'm Flynn Vallgren. We just moved to Lovell City yesterday. We're not familiar with the roads, and I got distracted."

"It's fine," Tiffany replied dismissively. "Your daughter is very beautiful," she added politely.

"Isn't she?" Flynn beamed, proud. He called to his daughter, "Jennie, come say hello to this lady." Because of Tiffany's disguise, he mistook her for Richard's relative.

Tiffany didn't mind the misunderstanding. The shock came when the girl's name was revealed: Jennie Vallgren. It was the same name Cecilia had mentioned. Jennie bore a striking resemblance to Tiffany—about sixty percent alike.

A dull pain shot through Tiffany's chest. Jennie was about to greet her, but Tiffany stopped her. "No need."

Flynn felt awkward. Richard returned, ignoring the onlookers, and took Tiffany's hand. "Are you feeling unwell? Why do you look so pale?" he asked, bending down.

Tiffany didn't respond. Usually, she would have joked, but now she was speechless.

Richard and Flynn, oblivious to the tension, exchanged business cards. "Hello, my name is Flynn Vallgren. Contact me for car repairs," Flynn said.

Flynn sensed Richard's extraordinary aura. He glanced at his daughter, mesmerized by Richard, and asked, "May I ask your name? And who is this lady? Is she your" He looked at Tiffany's attire, thinking she might be a maid or relative.

Richard gave him a cold glance. "She's my wife."

Flynn was dumbfounded. He wanted to ask more, but John arrived in a sleek car. "Mr. Hampton, Mrs. Hampton, please get in," he said respectfully.

Tiffany resisted, but Richard effortlessly lifted her into his arms. "Come on, darling."

"Stop it let go of me," she protested, but he carried her to the car.

As they drove away, Flynn watched. He turned to someone. "Who was that?"

"He's Mr. Richard Hampton. A business tycoon, a powerful and well-known figure!"

Flynn was shocked. Richard was a household name, a business genius, his low profile adding to his mystique. He'd missed a golden opportunity.

"Dad," Jennie said softly, "Don't worry. We'll have other chances."
