Chapter 713
A group of employees gathered, staring in shock at the documents. It was a signed divorce agreement. The bold heading stunned them.
One exclaimed, "What the—am I really seeing this?"
Another murmured, "It's a divorce agreement with the CEO's signature and his wife's name. Weren't they showing off how in love they were? I never thought they'd be getting divorced…"
A third commented, "Oh my god, this happened too fast! I barely had time to envy them, and now it's all over?"
An employee cautioned, "You all should stop gossiping about the CEO and his wife. Have you forgotten what happened last time? If it's not work-related, pretend you didn't see it! Also, where did this agreement come from? Does it need to be submitted?"
Another hesitantly replied, "I… I think so."
Someone else said quietly, "This came from the CEO's office, with the urgent documents. So, what should we do with the divorce agreement? Should it be submitted?"
The team leader, who had just scolded them, paused thoughtfully. "Since Mr. Hampton sent it, that must be his intention. Proceed as usual."
The crowd responded in unison, "Understood!"
That day, the employee group chat at Royal Tower buzzed as news of Richard and Tiffany's divorce spread like wildfire. The gossip quickly became a sensation, reaching Twitter's trending list within hours.
Since Tiffany left with nothing, public speculation turned malicious.
One comment read: "[I bet Tiffany did something outrageous, or maybe those cheating rumors were true? No wonder he couldn't tolerate it and kicked her out!]"
Another tweeted: "[I agree. That makes sense!]"
Yet another countered: "[Didn't those proven wrong last time learn their lesson? Tiffany isn't just Mr. Hampton's wife; she's the head of Miracle Healer! Those spirit herbs are priceless. She wouldn't be hurting for money! Maybe they just had a falling out.]"
One user wrote: "[I'm crying! I barely had time to stan this couple, and now they're breaking up?]"
Someone else posted: "[I'll treat it as a dream, but it still hurts when I wake up…]"
Online discussions were rampant.
When Charlie saw the news, he was furious. His hands shook as he called Tiffany. "You silly girl! How could you let this happen and not tell your family?"
Tiffany, mid-acupuncture treatment, asked in confusion, "Dad, what's wrong?"
Charlie responded, "What's wrong? You foolish child!"
His heart ached for her, knowing she'd left with nothing. He thought, She was distressed yet still worried about me. How naive?
Filled with compassion, Charlie wiped away tears and softened his tone. "It's okay, sweetheart. Come home. Daddy will take care of you! I'll look after you for the rest of your life!"
"Dad, what happened?" Tiffany asked, sensing trouble. She gave him reassuring words before hanging up.
"There are only three more needles," Tiffany thought. "I can't get distracted." After ten more minutes, she finished, sighed in relief, and checked her phone.
A news notification popped up: "[Divorce Agreement Exposed! Mr. Hampton Returns to Single Status, Miss Kelley Leaves with Nothing!]"
Tiffany froze. Even though she'd anticipated it, her heart ached. Despite her decision and mental preparation, a lingering hope remained that Richard wouldn't sign, wouldn't give up…
She knew this was naive. Now that hope was dashed, she had no right to complain.
Tiffany clicked the headline. The divorce agreement displayed Richard's signature. She thought, Just as bold and unrestrained as I remember. Perfect. From today on, we'll go our separate ways.
June called. "Miss Kelley! What should we do now?"
"Nothing, just get the divorce certificate," Tiffany replied calmly, a faint smile on her face.
June responded respectfully, "Understood."
In Lovell City, neither party needed to be present to obtain the certificate after signing. Tiffany left this to June.
After hanging up, Tiffany went to the bedroom window, gazing at the view. Her back was turned; she didn't see the man in the bed, supposedly unconscious, open his eyes after her call.
He grabbed his phone, scrolled through it. His gentle, refined face turned dark, his calmness replaced with cold fury. His presence radiated menace.
Richard quickly typed a message and sent it.
Garry, lounging in the CEO's office chair, saw the message. Startled, he jumped up in shock and horror.
Garry cursed, "Damn! I'm in deep trouble!" This was unlike anything before. He might not survive this.
Panicking, Garry rushed out of the office. Tyrone had been called out earlier for personal business—likely to handle the divorce.
Garry sped to City Hall. He spotted Tyrone leaving. Garry's face paled; his legs felt weak. He stammered, "I–it's… it's done?"
This was a complete disaster.
Tyrone, terrified and uncertain, saw Garry's grim face. "Are you hoping I did or didn't do it?"
Silence fell. Garry nearly choked. "What do you think?"
"I… I don't know," Tyrone replied, shivering, thinking, Poor me, I feel miserable.
Garry softened his tone. "Did you complete it? Tell me the truth!"
(The final character, 宙, is a Japanese character and seems out of place. I have omitted it.)
