Chapter 120
"Well, let's go." Landon actually agreed. Amelia was stunned, and then she smiled happily.
Elaine was locked in the room, pointing at Aaron and scolding in anger, "Aaron, how dare you lock me here? I’ll have Landon fire you. Let me go right now! If I need anything, I’ll talk to Landon myself."
Aaron looked at the angry Elaine coldly. The Kingsley family and the Atkinson family were old friends, and they had many business dealings. Usually, Aaron was very tolerant of Elaine, an arrogant, wealthy lady.
However, at this moment, Aaron had the urge to beat her up. Elaine was so hateful. She dared to drug Amelia and make Amelia unable to have children in the future.
Elaine yelled, "Aaron, did you hear me? Who do you think you are? How dare you ignore me? Aren’t you afraid that I will kick you out of Norava?"
Aaron said coldly, "Stop yelling, Ms. Atkinson."
The bodyguard opened the door, and Amelia wheeled Landon in. Both of them had cold faces.
Elaine felt jealous every time she saw them together. She glared at Amelia. "You asked Aaron to lock me up?"
"It's me." Landon’s deep eyes were chilling.
Upon hearing this, Elaine immediately softened her voice. "Why?"
"You know what you did." Aaron took out the small medicine bottle he had found in the parking lot and handed it to Landon. "Mr. Kingsley, this is what fell out of Ms. Atkinson’s bag. Dr. Harrington has checked it. It's used to hold that drug."
"What is that? That’s not mine." Elaine finally realized that something serious had happened. She thought, ‘That bottle isn’t mine, but the surveillance camera caught it falling out of my bag. I’m being framed.’
"Ms. Atkinson, the surveillance camera captured it clearly. Your fingerprints have also been found on this bottle," Aaron said.
Elaine asked in a trembling voice, "What kind of drug is in it?"
"You knew it." Amelia slapped Elaine with all her strength.
Elaine staggered and fell on the sofa. She covered her cheek and said in disbelief, "You dare to hit me."
"Why not?" Amelia said coldly. "Thanks to you, I have had a heavy menstrual flow for three days."
"I said that the bottle is not mine," Elaine cried out in pain. "Landon, did you see it? She slapped me." Elaine was a typical spoiled lady, arrogant and stupid.
Landon sneered, "You should be thankful that it was her who did it. If it was me…"
Landon’s cold voice startled Elaine. She stopped crying and shivered all over in a panic. "Landon, I didn’t do anything. That bottle is really not mine. I swear."
"Then tell me why this bottle got into your bag," Landon said.
"I… I don’t know." Elaine looked confused.
"Do you think I believe it?" Landon’s handsome face was gloomy, and his eyes were as cold as ice.
Elaine knew that Landon was bad-tempered and ruthless, but he had rarely looked at her in such a way. Elaine got frightened and explained pitifully, "Landon, please believe me this once. Go and investigate it carefully. It really has nothing to do with me."
"Stop lying. Give me the antidote, and I will spare you." Landon still held on to the last straw. If Elaine had the antidote, Amelia’s pain could have ended, and Amelia could get pregnant.
However, Landon remembered that Wesley and Lindsey had both said, "There is no antidote, and the damage to a person's body is irreversible!"
"I told you it wasn’t me. How could I have the antidote?" Elaine started crying in a panic.
"Aaron, let her take the same drug as well," Landon ordered.
Aaron took out another bottle and walked towards Elaine.
Elaine was going crazy in fear. She asked harshly, "What is it? What kind of drug is it?"
"Wait," Amelia suddenly called and furrowed her brows. She squatted down and whispered to Landon, "Elaine doesn’t look like she’s lying. Why don’t we check again?"
"You are still so soft-hearted." Landon patted her head, looking affectionate. "I taught you before: never be kind to your enemies."
"But this drug…" Amelia had just experienced three days of pain and couldn’t bear to force Elaine to take the drug. She thought, ‘If it weren’t Elaine…’
"Go ahead, Aaron," Landon ordered.
"Yes." Aaron nodded and forcefully poured the drug into Elaine’s mouth.
The bitter taste spread in Elaine’s mouth, and she asked in horror, "What is it? What on earth did you pour into my mouth?"
"It will affect your health. In the future, you will have a heavy menstrual flow for a few days every month, just like what I experienced," Amelia sighed, feeling a little reluctant.
Elaine burst into tears and trembled with fear. "I’ll tell my dad that you guys bullied me."
"When you drugged Amy, you should have thought about the consequences," Landon remained indifferent.
Elaine sobbed, and suddenly, she remembered something. "Someone had taken my bag."
"Who?" Amelia and Landon stared at Elaine.
"I don’t know, but the bag has been in my car for several days. Someone must have touched it," Elaine cried.
Landon controlled his wheelchair, moved forward, and asked, "Who have you come into contact with in the past few days?"
Elaine answered, "I have met many people, such as some people from my company, my friends, and Patrick. Just check them one by one. It must be one of them who framed me."
Landon frowned when he heard this.
Amelia became nervous. She thought, ‘Patrick… It is very likely that Patrick did it and then let Elaine take the blame. We are all fooled. The result of offending the Atkinson family is serious. Is it too late to give Elaine a gastric lavage now?'
Over at Atkinson Villa, Elaine’s father, Klein Atkinson, received a call from Patrick. After hearing what Patrick said, Klein was furious. "How dare Landon take my daughter away?"
Patrick said, "Mr. Atkinson, Landon and I are brothers, and I shouldn’t have told you this. But I couldn’t bear to see Ms. Atkinson suffer, so I called you. I hope you won’t betray me."
Klein said, "I won’t. You saved my daughter, and I owe you a favor." Then, he hung up the phone and hurriedly went to the address given by Patrick with the bodyguards.
