Chapter 125
Looking at the retreating Aaron, Amelia asked, “Honey, any leads on William?”
Landon popped a strawberry into his mouth and replied, “Nothing yet.”
Amelia pressed, “Why did Aaron come?”
Landon chuckled. “You’re quite clever.”
“If it were about the company, Aaron wouldn’t dodge me.” Amelia stared at Landon. “What did he say?”
“I’m preparing a surprise for you.” Landon tenderly looked at Amelia.
With a red face, Amelia teased, “Have you been in a relationship?”
“Nope.” Landon rested his head on his palms. Smiling, he said, “There is only a handful of good men like me.”
Amused, Amelia chuckled. “Alright, I’ll cherish you.” Because of the strawberry juice, her lips became watery and tempting.
Landon’s Adam’s apple bobbed a few times. In the end, Landon beckoned to Amelia. “Come here.”
“Yes?” Amelia walked over, confused. Landon pulled Amelia against his chest with an arm around her slender waist.
“What are you doing?” Amelia asked.
“To kiss you!” Speaking, Landon kissed Amelia, and the sweet strawberry juice tempted him to take further action.
His body became burning hot, and he became horny in an instant.
His kiss was so passionate that Amelia had to lean on him. Amelia didn’t feel comfortable.
After the kiss, her waist got a cramp. “Are you out of your mind, Landon?”
“You are my girlfriend, so I can kiss you.” Gazing at Amelia’s swollen lips, Landon fought hard against his impulse for another deep kiss.
He might lose control of his desire if he had another kiss with Amelia. “Be patient. Her period was just over,” he thought.
“Is that what you want from a relationship?” Amelia complained with a blushing face. To be frank, she liked his aggressiveness.
“A kiss? No, men are worse than you think.” A faint smile lit up Landon’s face.
Landon wanted to sleep with Amelia, but the time was not ripe yet.
Amelia cleared her throat awkwardly, and her face became redder.
In the past, Zachary didn’t kiss Amelia. He gave her a small kiss when necessary. In fact, Amelia was new to love.
“Landon, you’re supposed to be cool and aloof,” Amelia stomped her feet, and her anxious look was cute.
Landon chuckled. “I was before your arrival.”
“Stop talking!” Amelia grabbed an apple and stuffed it into Landon’s mouth. Landon had a glib tongue.
The next day, Landon got the confirmation from Aaron. “Diana said that the woman in the photo was Debra,” Aaron reported.
“Let’s see Walter in jail for double confirmation,” Landon said with his eyes slightly narrowed.
“Right now? Isn’t Mrs. Kingsley swamped with work…”
“Let her focus on her work. The two of us will go.”
Aaron stole a glance at Amelia busy with work in the office and felt sorry for her.
He thought to himself, “What a cunning devil Mr. Kingsley is! Even his wife is squeezed by him.”
Landon and Aaron arrived at the jail. Surprised, Walter exclaimed, “Mr. Kingsley, what brings you here?”
Landon showed Walter a photo. “Look at this.”
Walter stared at the woman in the photo, and his pupils constricted in shock. “She… Who is she?”
“Can’t you recognize your wife?” Landon sneered. “Mr. Edwards, come on!”
“Not Debra! She is not!” Walter jumped to his feet but was pulled back to his seat by the shackles.
His eyes were glued to the photo while his entire body was trembling uncontrollably.
Landon demanded coldly, “Who is she, if not Debra?”
“I, I don’t know…” Walter went pale and looked everywhere but Landon.
The woman in the photo was well-dressed and looked graceful. It was easy to tell that she was born with a silver spoon.
“If she were Debra, her family would be…” Walter thought in agitation.
“Let me tell you who she is, Mr. Edwards!” Landon flipped the photo over, and there appeared the introduction of Catherine.
Walter read the few lines as a cold sweat broke out on his forehead.
“Debra is the daughter of the Hughes family in Lunova and the hostess of the Zuckerberg family. Oh no! I will be doomed…” he thought.
“Catherine is Debra!” Landon was convinced by Walter’s reactions.
Walter shrieked hysterically, “No! No! She isn’t! She was a homeless madwoman. How could she be the hostess of the Zuckerberg family?”
“She was!” Landon put away the photo. “Mr. Edwards, you are screwed.”
Walter fell silent and sank down on his chair, his face ashen with despair. Not a bad idea for him to stay in jail. He was safe there, at least.
He had offended the Hughes family and the Zuckerberg family at the same time. Would he get killed?
“Mr. Edwards,” Landon said coldly, “tell me everything you know. In this way, you may stay alive.”
“Mr. Kingsley, how did you find out about her?” Walter asked in a hoarse voice.
“The Zuckerberg family sent his men to Pinecrest.”
Hearing Landon, Walter closed his eyes helplessly and murmured in despair, “They came. They finally came…”
“You brought Amy up, so I can spare your life. Now tell me everything you know!” Landon demanded.
After a long pause, Walter finally admitted, “I didn’t know who she was. I noticed her precious stuff. She distanced herself from me, so I had to coax her to my place for further action.
“She was insane, but she was a stunner. My softness finally convinced her to put her guard down and give me her stuff. Trust me! She gifted me her precious stuff. I didn’t steal or rob. I didn’t go against the law.”
Landon knitted his brows. “Did you sell all those antiques to Carlo?”
“Carlo? Who’s Carlo?” Walter asked.
Landon and Aaron exchanged a glance with each other. Walter sold Debra’s stuff and got a lot of money, but he didn’t know Carlo. Was there a middleman in the trade?
“Who’s Carlo?” Walter moved his ass and swallowed restlessly.
Landon asked, “Who did you sell your stuff to?”
Walter blinked his eyes while weighing his words. “A mysterious buyer. I couldn’t see his face. He gave me cash and hurried away right after the deal was over.”
Who in Pinecrest could afford precious antiques twenty years ago? It was weird.
“Mr. Kingsley, please tell the Hughes family and the Zuckerberg family that I didn’t know Debra’s true identity. I wouldn’t have the guts to take her home if I did. Besides, I helped them raise her kid. Given that merit, please show me some mercy.”
Both Landon and Aaron were aghast at the last bit of information. Amelia wasn’t Walter’s daughter. Was she a Zuckerberg? Daniel’s sister?
“Mr. Kingsley, please…” Fear brought tears to Walter’s eyes.
Landon gave Walter a profound glance and ended the visit. Walter was scared now. Why hadn’t he felt so when he lured Debra to his home?
