Chapter 190

“We’re not accepting it!” Daniel slammed the door shut.

The waiter looked extremely distressed. “But Mr. Kyle specifically ordered this meal. If you don’t accept it, I’ll get fired…”

“How is that my problem?” Daniel snorted. He wasn’t about to let Aiden use someone else to get to him.

“Mr. Zuckerberg…” the waiter pleaded.

“From now on, unless I ask for it myself, we won’t take anything you people try to deliver!” Daniel’s voice was firm and left no room for negotiation.

“Daniel, who was it?” Amelia stepped out of the room, her hand gripping the necklace around her neck. It was a hidden weapon Landon had custom-made for her, always ready for her to defend herself.

Edith, sensing something was off, also came out to see what was happening.

“It was Aiden. He’s started chasing after you,” Daniel said, rubbing his temples in frustration.

Amelia was at a loss for words.

Edith was speechless.

“Wait, how did he know where we’re staying? Was he following me?” Edith groaned, smacking her forehead. “I never should’ve moved in with you!”

“It’s not your fault. We’re in Dreicean, after all. If he wants to know where we’re staying, it’s not hard for him to find out,” Daniel replied.

But this wasn’t how a real businessman acted. Aiden played the game on a whole different level than Daniel had expected.

He’d better get some backup over to Dreicean, just in case.

“I’ll call him and set things straight!” Amelia rubbed her arms, trying to get rid of the goosebumps.

‘Damn it. Aiden is driving me crazy,’ Amelia thought. ‘I need to take care of him right now!’ she added to herself.

“Mr. Kyle…” Amelia said.

“Mrs. Kingsley, you finally called me. So, did you enjoy the dinner I specially prepared for you?” Aiden cut in.

Amelia had barely started when Aiden jumped in and started talking nonstop.

She took a deep breath and replied coldly, “I didn’t like it. Mr. Kyle, I’m married, and I love my husband. Please don’t trouble yourself over me anymore.”

“That’s okay. I can wait for you to get divorced,” Aiden said with a smirk.

That line disgusted everyone.

Daniel gritted his teeth. He cursed inwardly, ‘Once I get hold of Landon, I’ll spill everything Aiden has done and let Landon teach that guy a lesson.’

“Mr. Kyle, let me make this clear. I’ll never get a divorce,” Amelia snapped.

“Then I’ll just wait for you to become a widow,” Aiden shot back with a smirk.

‘What the fuck!’ Amelia was shocked.

She finally lost it. “Mr. Kyle, are you seriously cursing my husband right now?”

“No, no, I’m being totally serious. Didn’t Mr. Kingsley head off to Ausposh? That place is a mess—bad environment, lousy security…”

“Just stop! I don’t want to hear another word from you!” Amelia was fuming.

She angrily hung up the phone.

“Don’t be upset. Mr. Kingsley will definitely be with you for the rest of your life. He’s just trying to mess with you,” Edith quickly reassured her.

Amelia patted her chest, trying to calm herself down.

‘This is so infuriating! If anyone can make Aiden mute for life, I’ll pay them a fortune!’ she thought.

“He’s so obsessed. It’s honestly twisted,” Daniel said, his expression grave. “Amelia, your pregnancy comes first. Just block him.”

Amelia blocked Aiden.

If it weren’t for Kayla, she would never see Aiden again for the rest of her life.

“Alright, don’t let it get to you. When you run into a jerk, just treat him like garbage and toss him out,” Edith said.

Daniel looked up at Edith. He wondered, ‘Jerk? Could it be that, in her eyes, I’m just another jerk too?’

“Edith, I’m really sorry for getting you involved in all this,” Amelia sighed, then spilled everything without holding back.

Edith was floored. “Wait—Paloma is Kayla? Mr. Kingsley actually has a sister?”

“Yeah, that’s how it is,” Amelia replied.

Amelia’s expression turned grim.

She said, “Paloma and Aiden are only a year apart. Even if Kayla was taken in by the Kyle family the moment she went missing, Aiden should’ve known she wasn’t his biological sister. Now I’m starting to suspect he knew my intentions all along and set this trap for me on purpose.”

Amelia couldn’t help but feel a bit of regret creeping in.

‘Breaking into the tiger’s den like this—can I really make it out in one piece?’ she wondered.

But even if she had to choose again, she’d still come—for Landon, so what if it was dangerous?

She picked up her phone and tried to call Landon again.

His phone was still off.

They’d only been apart for two days, but her longing for him was already crashing over her like a tidal wave.

‘Landon, come on, just talk to me already!’ she thought anxiously.

‘Landon, I miss you so much,’ she thought, her heart aching with longing. ‘There are so many important things I need to tell you…’ she added to herself.

“The DNA test results won’t be out for a while, so even if Aiden wants to pull something, he’ll have to wait. Back-up from the Zuckerberg family will be here tomorrow. Don’t worry,” Daniel said.

His steady, strong voice made both women feel a lot safer.

Edith couldn’t help but feel a little envious.

‘If only I had a brother who could make me feel so safe and protected…’ she thought.

Aiden’s pursuit came out of nowhere and hit like a freight train.

After Amelia turned down his dinner, he just kept going—late-night snacks, breakfast, and lunch. The food deliveries never stopped.

Every single morning, there’d be a “good morning” text waiting, and every night, a “good night”—the guy was relentless.

Getting blocked by Amelia? No big deal. He just started bombarding Edith with messages, begging her to pass them along instead.

After two days of this, Edith was so frazzled that she barely knew what planet she was on.

“Maybe I should just block him too!” Edith said, sounding frazzled.

“No, you need to keep his contact info so you can use him to connect with Paloma,” Amelia said.

Amelia had braced herself for this.

Even if Paloma really was Kayla, Aiden was never going to let her go that easily.

He definitely had something up his sleeve.

From the way things looked, it was pretty obvious he was after her, more than anything else.

“Edith, just brush him off and tell him you’ve passed everything on,” Daniel said.

Edith sighed and muttered, “I’ve never been chased after like this in my whole life…”

Daniel raised an eyebrow, looking thoughtful.

“We can’t just stay cooped up in this hotel forever. Let’s go out and get some fresh air!” Amelia suggested.

Since Aiden already knew what she was after, she might as well act openly.

Being stuck in the hotel all day, getting bombarded with good morning, good afternoon, and good night messages from that obsessive maniac—anyone would go crazy.

“Let’s go!” Daniel got up and took the two ladies out to hang around the city.

The elite team Daniel brought in from the Zuckerberg family were all disguised as regular folks and tourists, shadowing them every step of the way.

They were out and about for a few hours, but Aiden didn’t try anything at all.

Amelia finally felt a bit more relaxed.

Suddenly, her phone rang. It was Gloria. “Amelia, where are you? Something happened at home…”

“Gloria, what’s wrong?” Amelia’s heart skipped a beat.

Her first thought was of Landon.

‘Oh no, don’t tell me Aiden’s stupid curse actually came true and something happened to Landon!’ she thought, her mind racing.

“Patrick’s back, but Landon isn’t. I can’t get in touch with him,” Gloria said, her voice full of worry.

Amelia was already on edge, but then her nerves were stretched to the breaking point. “What about Aaron? Is he back yet?”

“No, and I can’t get through to him either!” Gloria replied anxiously.

“Gloria, try not to worry. Maybe they’re just caught up with work and will be back a little later,” Amelia said, forcing herself to sound calm.

But even as she tried to comfort Gloria, Amelia’s own heart was twisted up in knots.

The sun was blazing overhead, but she was standing there on the street, shaking uncontrollably.

Daniel gently took the phone from her with one hand and put his other arm around her shoulders.

After getting the full story, he calmly reassured Gloria.

But Amelia didn’t hear a single word he said.

Her mind was blank, and her ears were ringing so loud that she could barely think.

She also wanted to know why Patrick had come back, but there was still no word from Landon.
