Chapter 192
“Daniel, help me look into Sandra,” Amelia said coldly, her fists clenched tight.
After Sandra had ruined Zachary’s life, she escaped with Henry’s help.
It had been over two months since anyone had heard from her.
Amelia had thought that after everything Sandra had been through, she would have learned her lesson. But it seemed some people just never changed.
It was the same old dirty habit, no matter what.
“Okay.” Daniel nodded.
With just one phone call from Daniel, a response came not long after.
“After Sandra left the country, she was worried the Foster family would come after her, so she bounced around a few countries before ending up in Dreicean,” Daniel said.
“Then it really is her,” Amelia said, taking a deep breath. “Damn it! I spared her once, and now she actually wants revenge?”
“Should I go get her?” Daniel asked.
“Can you do that?” Amelia raised her brows.
“Yeah, no problem.”
“Good. Bring her here and let’s find out exactly what she told Aiden,” Amelia said.
The Kyle Estate
Sandra sat among the blooming tulips, savoring an elegant afternoon coffee.
When she saw Aiden’s car pull up, she stood up and waved, calling out sweetly, “Mr. Kyle.”
“What are you doing here?” Aiden asked as he stepped out of the car, his face expressionless.
“Someone’s looking for me, so I had no choice but to hide out here with you,” Sandra replied with a charming giggle, looking just as beautiful as the tulips behind her.
Ever since she left Norava, life had only gotten sweeter for her.
Unfortunately, her father and mother were convicted again—this time accused of deliberately committing marriage fraud and poisoning Catherine.
She never would have imagined that Amelia was actually the daughter of the Hughes family in Lunova, and Daniel’s half-sister.
Luckily, she’d found herself a powerful backer in Aiden.
“It’s Daniel, right? If they want to see you, just go,” Aiden said, settling in to enjoy the sunshine.
A gentle breeze blew, carrying the sweet scent of flowers.
This beautiful estate was missing just one thing—a lady of the house.
‘Amelia, when will you come and be the lady of my estate?’ Aiden mused.
Chapter 192
“Daniel is terrifying. I’m scared he might actually kill me,” Sandra said.
“Don’t worry. I’ll have more of my men go with you. Just drop my name, and he won’t dare lay a finger on you,” Aiden replied with a slight smirk.
This was his turf, after all.
“Thank you, Mr. Kyle!” Sandra beamed.
Her face lit up with delight.
She’d been competing with Amelia since they were little, always trying to outdo her.
She had to compete for everything like food, clothes, daily comforts, grades, even men.
A few months ago, she lost and had to run abroad, letting Amelia enjoy her victory for way too long.
Now, she finally had the means to go head-to-head with Amelia again.
Sandra walked away slowly and gracefully with her group, while Aiden just kicked back under the sun umbrella, soaking up the sunshine without a care in the world.
“Aiden.” Paloma called out softly as she glided over, catching him off guard.
He immediately sat up and asked, “Paloma, what brings you here?”
“Who was that girl earlier?” Paloma asked.
Aiden thought for a couple of seconds before replying, “She’s the daughter of an old family friend.”
“She has black hair, black eyes, and a complexion just like mine,” Paloma said softly, her gaze still gentle.
But Aiden felt the pressure mounting.
He glanced at her exquisite lace mask, a guilty feeling creeping up inside him.
‘Will she still be this gentle once she realizes I’m her enemy?’ he wondered.
“She’s from the same place as me, isn’t she?” Paloma asked.
Aiden nodded. “Yeah, just like you, her Nusminish genes are stronger in the mix, so she has Nusminish facial features.”
“Landen said Norava is really fun. I want to go too,” Paloma said, gracefully pouring herself a cup of coffee and taking a slow sip. “Aiden, next time you head to Norava, take me with you, okay?”
“Paloma, Mom and Dad said you can’t leave here. You promised them you’d stay put, remember?” Aiden said, frowning.
“But your friend got me curious,” Paloma replied.
“Hm?” Aiden responded.
“Landen said he met a really sweet old lady and a gorgeous woman…” Paloma said.
Aiden could only roll his eyes in exasperation.
He really shouldn’t trust a little kid’s promises. He’d told Landen not to say a word about what happened outside before they got home.
But the little guy couldn’t hold it in for even a few days before spilling everything.
“Aiden, you know you’re my favorite. You wouldn’t turn me down, would you?” Paloma said, her smile as gentle as ever.
Chapter 192
She really did dote on him like a mother.
Aiden couldn’t meet her expectant gaze, so he looked down and said, “Alright, I’ll take you next time I go.”
“When will that be?” Paloma asked.
“Not sure yet. Maybe in two or three months,” Aiden replied.
By then, he believed he’d have already made Amelia his girl.
“That long…” Paloma pouted in disappointment.
For some reason, she found herself especially interested in the places and people Landen talked about.
It even made her want to ignore her parents for once.
She just wanted to go check it all out right away.
“Paloma, I’ve been really busy lately. Can you wait until I’m done with everything?” Aiden asked.
“Alright,” Paloma agreed, though a trace of regret lingered in her heart.
But there was nothing she could do. With her head injury, she was not even allowed to go out on her own.
The next day, Sandra was brought before Amelia.
It had only been a few months, but Sandra had definitely put on some weight. Still, she looked even more seductive than before, with a bold, streetwise vibe that clung to her like cheap perfume.
“Sandra, did you tell Aiden about me?” Amelia asked, her voice cold.
“Yes, I did,” Sandra nodded, admitting it without a hint of hesitation.
Amelia frowned. “Why would you do that?”
“Because I hate you. I wanted revenge,” Sandra said.
“I already spared your life,” Amelia said, her tone icy.
“Look at what I’ve become. Isn’t this all your fault?” Sandra demanded, her voice thick with hatred.
Amelia shot back, “Let’s be real, it was Zachary who ruined you. And you tried to take me down, but karma bit you instead.”
“Don’t act innocent. You had a hand in it too,” Sandra sneered. “I know now—it was you who made sure my parents would rot in prison forever.”
“They murdered my mother. They got exactly what they deserved,” Amelia replied coldly.
“So, we’re enemies. Enemies for life,” Sandra fixed Amelia with a chilling stare.
Amelia set her water glass down. “Since you refuse to change, don’t blame me for what I’m about to do.”
“You really think you can do anything to me now?” Sandra sneered.
Chapter 192
With a clap of her hands, several bodyguards immediately appeared in the restaurant.
Every single one of them had been assigned to her by Aiden.
Amelia shot Sandra a mocking look. “Well, look at you. It seems you’ve gotten a lot bolder since we last met.” But inside, she couldn’t help thinking, ‘Damn, when did Sandra get so gutsy?’
‘What is going on between Sandra and Aiden?’ Amelia wondered, her suspicion growing by the second.
