Chapter 247

“What are your plans for Poppy and the Kington Gang?” Amelia asked.

The whole mess wasn’t over yet, so she only dared to let herself get lost in romance for a brief moment.

Landon looked at her, like he wanted to say something but held back.

Amelia caught on right away and asked, “You already have a plan, don’t you?”

“Yes,” Landon replied.

“When do we start?” she asked.

Landon glanced at his phone. Tuff had already sent a message: “Kayla is fine. The plan is going ahead as scheduled.”

Amelia saw it too and bit her lip.

‘It’s not today, is it?’ Amelia thought.

“Now,” Landon said, deleting the message and looking at his wife with a guilty expression.

They had just gotten back together for a few hours, and now they already had to part ways again.

Not long ago, he’d told her himself that he wouldn’t leave her anymore.

“I’m sorry. I didn’t expect things to move so quickly on Tuff’s end…” Landon said.

Amelia said, her voice tinged with disappointment, “You just got home…”

“We can’t drag this out. We have to settle it quickly,” Landon said, though he hated having to leave her so soon.

He wanted to stay home and be with his wife. It’d been ages since he really got to spend time with her.

“Will you be in danger?” Amelia asked softly, unconsciously tugging at his sleeve.

“No,” Landon replied.

Landon smiled and gently stroked her face. “The Kington Gang is already at the end of the road. We’ve got everything planned out–there’s no danger.”

“Alright then,” Amelia said.

She finally let go of his sleeve. “Go take care of things. I’ll be waiting for you at home.”

“Mm,” Landon replied.

He kissed her on the forehead, gave Gloria a few last instructions, and then hurried out the door.

At Atkinson Villa, Aiden stormed in, radiating murderous intent. Without a word, he pinned Elaine to the ground and started beating her up.

Klein rushed over to break it up. “Mr. Kyle, let’s talk this out. Don’t do anything rash…”

“Klein! Don’t think just because you’ve sided with the Kington Gang you can do whatever you want! Let me make it clear—the Kington Gang is mine, and you all answer to me!” Aiden shouted, his voice filled with fury.

Driven mad with anger, Aiden kicked Elaine a couple more times.

Elaine, her face smeared with blood, curled up on the floor, wailing, “It hurts, Dad. It hurts…”

Klein knew all too well who Aiden was and what he was capable of.

He had to swallow his anger and forced a smile. “Mr. Kyle, what did my daughter do wrong? Just tell me, and I’ll discipline her myself.”

“She provoked Amelia! Amelia almost died because of her!” Aiden’s eyes were bloodshot, and he looked like he wanted to kill Elaine right then and there.

Elaine, still defiant, shot back, “You really like her that much?”

“Hah! She’s got my life in her hands!” Aiden roared.

The room fell silent.

Klein asked in surprise, “Mr. Kyle? Didn’t you already get your freedom…?”

“She poisoned me. If she dies within ten years, I’m done for!” Aiden took a deep breath.

The love was real. But so was the poison.

Poppy’s appearance made him think he could have both love and health.

But Landon was gone.

If something happened to Amelia because she was provoked, would the Zuckerberg family ever give him the antidote?

Not a chance.

Just thinking about all his best years slipping away… Aiden clenched his fists again. ‘If I die, what would happen to sister?’

“Mr. Kyle, Elaine is young and reckless. Please, just let her go this time!” Klein pleaded, putting on a humble face. “And about the boss…”

“Trying to threaten me with my dad, huh?” Aiden’s gaze grew even colder, murderous intent flashing in his eyes.

Thanks to Klein’s reminder, Aiden knew exactly what he had to do next–take over the Kington Gang!

Only by becoming the boss of the Kington Gang could he truly protect Paloma.

Otherwise, Paloma would be in for endless abuse…

“Where’s my dad? I’ll talk to him myself!” Aiden asked, his voice sharp with anger.

“Mr. Kyle and Mrs. Kyle are resting…” Klein replied.

‘So they’re at Atkinson Villa?’ Aiden thought.

Actually, that was a pretty clever place to hide.

Aiden took a deep breath and finally let Elaine go. “Get lost! And don’t ever let me see your face again!”

“Okay,” Elaine whimpered.

She had the servants help her out of the room.

Klein fawned, “Mr. Kyle, it’s getting late. Would you like to stay for dinner?”

“No thanks!” Aiden stormed out, his anger still boiling over.

He had barely stepped outside when he ran straight into Kayla.

Aiden froze. “Poppy? What are you doing here?”

“Mr. Kyle,” Kayla said, bowing respectfully in that signature Poppy style of hers.

“Where did you take my sister?” Aiden demanded through gritted teeth.

If he wanted to seize control of the Kington Gang, the first thing he had to do was get Paloma and Landen close to him for their own protection.

After all, his parents were total psychos.

“Mr. Kyle, you’ll have to ask the boss about that,” Kayla said, still keeping her eyes down.

Aiden’s heart tightened with anxiety. He grabbed Kayla by the collar. “Damn it! You really handed her over to them?”

“It was the boss’s orders,” Kayla replied.

Aiden took a deep breath, released her, and started dialing numbers and firing off texts right away.

Then, he kicked open the Atkinsons' door again.

“Mr. Kyle,” Kayla hurried to block his way.

Aiden brushed her off. “Get lost! I’m going to see my dad!”

Kayla’s eyes flashed, secretly delighted. ‘I guessed right–Paloma really is hiding at the Atkinsons' place!’

“Mr. Kyle, wait for me,” Kayla said, hurrying after him inside.

Her followers came in as well, naturally trailing into the Atkinson family’s house.

Klein had just let his guard down and was having someone tend to Elaine’s injuries.

But when he saw Aiden storming back in, he tensed up. “Mr. Kyle…”

“Which room is my dad in?” Aiden asked, his face dark with anger.

Just as Klein was about to stall, Kayla said, “Mr. Atkinson, I need to report something to the boss.”

“Poppy, the boss is on the third floor,” Klein replied.

Before he could finish, Aiden was already racing up the stairs like a whirlwind.

Sighing in fake concern, Kayla said, “Come on, let’s go break up the fight,” and led her people upstairs.

Klein didn’t suspect a thing.

He had no place meddling in the Kington Gang’s internal affairs–not yet, anyway.

Outside the boss’s room, a dozen or so of the Kington Gang’s top men stood guard. When they saw Aiden coming, they didn’t let him through.

“Mr. Kyle, the boss is resting,” one of them said.

“I need to see him! Right now! Move!” Without another word, Aiden started throwing punches.

The Kington Gang’s elite didn’t really respect Aiden, but none of them dared to actually hurt him.

They just went through the motions for a few rounds before letting him pass.

Kayla followed right on his heels.

“Bang!” Aiden kicked the door open and stormed inside.

Aiden’s father and mother were sitting by the window, glaring at him in annoyance. “Aiden, you’re getting more and more out of line! Get out!”

“Where’s my sister?” Aiden demanded, glancing around the room, searching for any sign of Paloma.

“She’s not here,” Aiden’s father replied.

“Then where did you take her? And what about Landen–where is he?” Aiden shouted, his voice brimming with fury.

“Aiden, go kill Amelia, and I’ll let you see them,” his father said coldly, his face dark and threatening.

Aiden let out a cold laugh. “So that’s what this is about… Now that Landon’s dead, you just want to snatch the Kingsley family’s fortune, huh?”

Standing humbly off to the side, Kayla quietly clenched all ten fingers.

Landon’s faked death had triggered yet another scheme in Eddie’s mind.

‘They really think they can use the Kingsley family’s money to rebuild the Kington Gang? In their dreams!’ Kayla thought.
