Chapter 1001
In the darkness, Lily felt a strong wind and swiftly ducked, avoiding a palm aimed at her face. She rose just in time to meet another punch from her attacker. The fists came with breakneck speed, each blow ruthless and decisive. These were no ordinary thieves or kidnappers; their skill far surpassed the thugs who had abducted her in Westwood. They moved with the precision of wind, relentlessly preventing Lily from catching her breath. Had she not trained extensively with the Lodge family for years, she might have already fallen.
Bang! Bang! Two fists collided with equal force; the outcome uncertain. Then, the house lights flickered back on.
"The power must have tripped," a voice announced. "I've activated the backup and am getting the main power fixed immediately. Go and reportโ"
The maid's report was cut short by the sight in the living room, followed by a scream. The light revealed Lily's attacker: a figure in a tight black suit and mask, their identity obscured. Yet, from their movements, stance, and physique, Lily deduced the attacker was a woman.
"Who are you?" Lily asked calmly, in contrast to the maid's panic.
The woman in black remained silent, her gaze cold and assessing. "You have quite the skills," she finally said, her voice revealing a woman's disdain, a clear lack of respect.
The woman's confidence was warranted; she had infiltrated Alexander's heavily secured home with ease. Lily knew this was no ordinary intruder, someone who had silently planned and executed this attack. A slight smile played on Lily's lips. "I have enough to deal with you!"
The woman's demeanor shifted; another punch was thrown.
"Hurry up! Call the police!" the maids urged, though none dared intervene. They were ordinary people, unprepared for such a confrontation.
"Quick! Call Mr. Russell!" another voice added.
As Lily defended herself, the woman paused, jumped back, and created distance. "Forget it! We'll fight another day!" she declared, then vanished into the night with a few swift leaps.
"Quick, stop her!" cries arose, but the woman was already gone.
"Madam! The thief has escaped!" a maid shrieked.
"Call the police!"
Lily raised a hand, silencing the panicked maids. Her composure gradually calmed them.
Someone offered her a phone. "Madam, Mr. Russell is on the line..."
Lily sighed before answering. "Hello?"
"Was there a break-in?" Alexander's voice was direct. He doubted an ordinary thief could breach his security system. However, he already suspected who might be responsible.
