Chapter 104

Frank's expression remained unchanged. He leaned in to smell the essential oil, frowned slightly, and then scanned the formula. A faint smile touched his lips. "It's a stupid trick!"

Although Frank's voice was soft, Nathaniel heard him and excitedly asked, "Mr. Moreau, does that mean you know how to adjust the formula?"

"Adjust it? No, there's no need. This isn't the formula," Frank said, waving the paper and loosening his grip. It dropped to the ground. "This isn't the formula?" Nathaniel and everyone around him were dumbfounded.

"That's impossible! We've tried many times, and the scents are similar, but with a tiny difference. If this isn't the formula, how could the two smell so alike?" someone questioned.

The staff knew Nathaniel had brought Frank, but none knew his identity. Therefore, Frank's statement cast doubt on his abilities.

Frank smiled contemptuously. "It's not because I said so." He offered no explanation, his demeanor appearing overconfident and arrogant.

"Mr. Hall, that's impossible. We've been testing it for days. While we don't have a definitive answer yet, we're sure the difference lies in one of the ingredients. Give us more time, and we'll get results soon," a staff member insisted.

Both sides remained adamant, leaving Nathaniel in a dilemma. Could Frank be wrong?

"You've spent so much time on this, and you still need to test it again? You're a bunch of useless imbeciles, and no amount of time will change that," Frank said harshly, disregarding their feelings.

His words ignited fury. "What did you say?" someone demanded.

"Hey," Nathaniel intervened, "Don't be mad. The most important thing is finding the source of the problem. Anyone who can recreate the original essential oil will be a hero to our company, and we will reward them!"

Nathaniel's words served a dual purpose: to quell the argument and to imply that Frank's reward depended on his success. "Mr. Hall, the samples we've tested are already similar to the original. Just give us more time, and we can—"

Before the staff member finished, Frank handed Nathaniel a piece of paper. He'd scribbled something down during their conversation. "Follow this formula." Disbelief was etched on Nathaniel's face.

Curious, the other staff members craned their necks to look. They wanted to know who Frank was to be so confident. A glance at the paper left them stunned. "What language is that?"

"French," Frank replied, putting down his pencil and dusting his hands. "I'm used to writing in French. You can find a translator." He then turned to Nathaniel. "Can I go back to the hotel? I'm tired."

"Sure! But this" Nathaniel held the paper like a treasure, but remained doubtful. He knew some French, but questioned whether Frank's formula would work, given the lab staff's prolonged efforts. Frank hadn't even conducted any experiments.

Nevertheless, Nathaniel couldn't publicly doubt Frank, given he'd brought him in for assistance. He folded the paper, pocketed it, and said, "All right, let's trust Mr. Moreau. Great job to all of you over the past few days. Head home and rest. And find me a professional French translator as soon as possible!"
