Lily walked into the house, sat on the sofa, and answered the phone. "Olivia, what's wrong?" She suspected Olivia would contact her after she and Alexander left. Olivia wasn't foolish; despite her love for Edward, Lily believed Olivia would see through his lies after their confrontation.

Olivia's voice was breathless and rushed. "Lily, Edward… he went out."

"Went out? What do you mean?" Lily glanced at Alexander, who was warming milk. He looked up, seemingly sensing her gaze.

"He got up while I was asleep and secretly left. I don't know where he went. Lily, I—I'm scared!" Olivia's voice trembled, thick with unshed tears. She feared Edward's hidden actions and the truth they concealed.

Lily frowned and sat up straighter. "He drove out alone? But he's injured! Doesn't he need a wheelchair?"

Olivia sounded embarrassed. "His legs are fine. I just found out. I don't know what else he's hidden, and I don't understand why he's doing this. Lily, I'm so sorry. I'm so sorry I doubted you."

"Okay, enough. Don't panic. I'll find out where Edward is. Go home and wait for my news. Don't go anywhere, especially since you're pregnant. You need to take care of yourself, understand?"

Lily's tone was firm. Olivia, though hesitant, complied. "Okay, I'll listen to you. I'll wait, but…" She paused, then cautiously asked, "Lily, can you promise you won't hurt Edward, no matter what?" Even if Edward lied, she wanted to believe he had a reason. She didn't want him harmed.

"Of course. Edward's our friend too!" Lily replied immediately. "Go home. I'll call if I hear anything." "Okay," Olivia said, hanging up.

"Edward went out?" Alexander, having overheard, waited until Lily finished. "Yeah," she nodded. "And his legs are fine."

Alexander nodded thoughtfully. "I wondered why he was in a wheelchair today. He was injured, but not in his legs. I didn't question it. Now it seems he's hiding something."

"It's strange he'd accuse you like that. Someone must have instructed him. What's the purpose? Is it just to separate you two?"

Lily thought, There must be a motive. Is someone controlling Edward, sowing discord to get rid of Alexander's right-hand man? It won't be simple.

"We'll find out who's behind this," Alexander said, handing her the milk. "Leave it to me." He patted her arm, clearly wanting to shield her.

"But, I…" Everything felt strange. Lily knew Alexander was the target, and she couldn't stand idly by.
