Listen to this chapter:

Lily spent the entire day in the laboratory, reviewing the R10 document. It wasn't drastically different from previous toxin-focused experiments. However, the inclusion of a muscle and bone-enhancing compound intrigued her. While it didn't counteract the toxins, its purpose remained elusive.

"They're trying to secretly poison someone and simultaneously enhance their musculature? It makes no sense!"

She wouldn't ask; they wouldn't tell her the truth, even if they could. The entire endeavor felt bizarre.

The organizationโ€™s goal seemed to be world domination, using their creations to control populations. Yet, they invested immense effort in rendering their creations undetectable. A deeper purpose, one Mike and Rhea likely didn't understand, undoubtedly existed.

Rhea... Lily pondered the woman. Gifted in medicine, surpassing even Austin, yet she devoted her talents to harm. Had she been misled? Her disregard for her family, her inexplicable hatred of Anastasia, and her faked death painted a picture of a dangerous individual.

After the final drop of essential oil blended with the liquid, Lily carefully placed the sample in the testing instrument, sighing with relief. She didn't want to produce the results they desired, knowing the organization's creations would cause harm. But inaction would arouse suspicion, hindering her investigation. Besides, the organization would find a way to achieve its goals, with or without her assistance.

The "boss" had threatened everyone's death if R10 failed. She believed him.

"He's a madman! Madmen do anything!"

"That's it?" A voice startled her. Lily remained still; she knew who it was, her attention fully absorbed in her work.

A mocking chuckle preceded Rhea's disdainful voice. "Don't say I didn't warn you. This won't work."

Lily looked down at the sample. "You're so sure you know how to make it work?"

Rhea's expression faltered. Lily's seemingly casual remark was a pointed jab. If Rhea knew the solution, she would have succeeded; Lily wouldn't have taken over. Rhea, unable to deny the truth, offered a tight smile. "You're right. I don't know how to make it work, but I've failed enough to know yours will fail too."

Lily thought, So what if I haven't succeeded? That doesn't mean I can't predict her failure.

"Seems you haven't learned from your mistakes, huh?"
