Chapter 218

"He's Mr. Russell's driver! Of course, Edward was the one who sent the things for his boss." It was no wonder Olivia mistook Edward for Lily's boyfriend.

"Thanks for sending me those things earlier, Edward," Lily said after entering the car. She hadn't seen Edward earlier but felt she should thank him for the late-night delivery. "You're welcome, Madam," Edward replied, glancing at Olivia. He then turned and placed his hands on the steering wheel.

"By the way, this is Olivia. She's my assistant and best friend," Lily said, feeling she should introduce them formally. "Liv, this is Edward, Alex's assistant."

Olivia nodded. Noticing Edward was facing forward, she leaned over and patted his shoulder, saying, "I'm sorry!"

Edward was startled and turned to look at her. "What?"

"I didn't know who you were. I thought you were a mole who'd sneaked into the lab, so I was rude. I'm sorry!" Olivia, possessing a carefree personality, wasn't petty. Her earlier rudeness stemmed from mistakenly believing he was there to steal commercial secrets. She wanted to apologize for the misunderstanding, especially since he'd delivered her earlier takeout.

Edward likely hadn't expected an apology. A girl's kind greeting and initiative to apologize warranted a response. He wasn't used to such a situation, so he nodded stiffly. "D-Don't worry. It's all right."

Olivia grinned, revealing a bright smile.

Edward turned back, sat upright, and gripped the steering wheel. Alexander entered the car, closing the door. "Let's go."

Lily turned to Olivia. "What's your new address? You said it's near the office, right?"

"It's not far," Olivia replied, giving an address that sounded unfamiliar to Lily. Lily asked, "Do you know this place, Edward? Let's go there first. We'll drop Liv off before heading back." "I know," Edward nodded, starting the car.

Olivia instinctively moved closer to the door, looking out the window, and fell silent. Being a third wheel was embarrassing enough; she wanted to be discreet. Lily, however, didn't understand. Fearing Olivia felt awkward, she scooted closer, taking Olivia's arm. "Liv, you have the next couple of days off. Rest well. After that, I may need to discuss some new product ideas with you."

"Hmm," Olivia murmured, saying nothing more. Even without looking at Alexander, she sensed his powerful aura.

"Considering we're off work, perhaps we should avoid business talk?" Alexander's deep voice cut through the air, as he drew Lily closer.
