Chapter 234

"Lily just said she lives in…" Jenny hadn't recovered from her initial shock. "I know, but she was referring to Lake Hills, about two blocks from Imperial Hills," Olivia replied hurriedly. "Actually, Lily once joked about owning a place in Imperial Hills. Unsurprisingly, she's repeating it now that she's quite drunk."

"I almost had a heart attack!" Jenny sighed in relief, finally accepting Olivia's explanation.

"Haha, me too! Wait till she's sober tomorrow. I'll never let her live it down!" Olivia joked.

"Nah, we shouldn't. On second thought, I should come with you. I'm still worried about you both," Jenny said, flagging a cab. She opened the door for them and was about to get in as well.

After ensuring Lily was comfortable, Olivia stopped Jenny. "It's okay. I'll make sure she gets home safely. If you come along, it'll be a hassle. You should go home and rest; you're working tomorrow. Don't worry, I'll text you when we get to Lily's place."

"But…" Jenny hesitated, but she knew Olivia was right. She nodded.

"Okay, but please be careful! Text me if you need help," Jenny reminded them, jotting down the cab's license plate number.

Once the cab sped away, Olivia sighed in relief. She turned to Lily and was astonished by her behavior. She'd worked with Lily for years but had never seen her like this. It was unusual.

The cab took them to Imperial Hills, but they couldn't enter; the security guards stopped them. Olivia didn't know which block Lily lived in, nor did she have Alexander's number. Her only option was to wake Lily.

"Lily, Lily, we're here! Which block do you live in?" Olivia asked, gently patting her face.

"Ugh… Be quiet!" Lily frowned, cracked open her eyes, then closed them again. Olivia was speechless. She considered checking Lily's phone, but the cab driver urged them to get out before she could. Olivia had no choice but to help Lily out; she couldn't fumble for Lily's phone with half of Lily's weight leaning on her.

"Lily, wake up. We're here! You can sleep once you're home!" Olivia kept trying, searching for Lily's phone. Just then, a car pulled up beside them. Olivia stepped in front of Lily, moving them back a few steps. The car stopped, and a window lowered.

Alexander looked at them with a frown. "What's the meaning of this?"

Relieved to see him, Olivia explained, "Mr. Russell! We went out for a celebratory drink, but Lily had too much to drink, so she's drunk." Olivia felt afraid when she met Alexander's gaze. She prayed Lily would wake up so she wouldn't have to face him alone.

"Get in," Alexander ordered, getting out of the car and taking Lily from Olivia's arms. Olivia felt lighter and sighed. "Um, Mr. Russell, since Lily's home, I'll leave."

"You, stay. It's difficult to hail a cab here."

Olivia was surprised he stopped her. "It's okay. I'll walk a few minutes to the main road," she said, trying to convince him, but he wouldn't budge. He instructed, "Let Edward take you home." Olivia complied.
