Chapter 248
Nathaniel slammed his fist on the steering wheel in a fit of rage. He felt nauseous, dizzy, and lost control of the car. The vehicle swerved wildly, as if driven by a drunkard, on the empty road. After several sharp screeches, it careened uncontrollably into a tree.
Crash!
The car came to a stop. Nathaniel was bleeding from a head wound.

Lily awoke the following morning feeling refreshed. She had no headache or hangover. Alexanderโs hastily learned hangover soup had apparently been exceptionally effective. The smell of breakfast drifted up from downstairs. She slipped on her slippers, went downstairs, and found Alexander serving breakfast, wearing an apron. It was a beautiful morning!
She hurried down and hugged him from behind, kissing his cheek. "Good morning!"
Alexander laughed, turned, and kissed her back. "Come sit down and have breakfast."
The table was laden with oatmeal, crackers, an omelet, sausage, and cut fruit. It looked delicious. Just as she thought that was all, he produced a glass of honey lemonade. "I checked online, and this is supposed to help with hangovers, too. Drink it."
"I feel wonderful! I'm sober!" Lily exclaimed.
"No, you must drink it. Consider it an aid to digestion," Alexander insisted.
Lily obediently drank the lemonade; it was delicious.
"What are your plans for today?" Alexander asked during breakfast.
"What about you?" Lily replied. She had no immediate plans; she was still on holiday and hadn't found inspiration for a new product.
Alexander didn't answer. Instead, he pulled out his phone and played a voice message: "Good morning, Mr. Russell. You have three regular meetings and one lunch engagement today. You will have lunch with Mr. Norton from Eco Flora Inc. at 3 p.m. You will be having regular meetings atโฆ"
He stopped the playback and looked at her. "That's about it."
Lily was speechless. Oh well, Mr. Russell is a busy man, she thought.
"I'll figure it out myself!" she said thoughtfully, knowing he was busy. Edward arrived while they were speaking and waited quietly in the entrance hall.
"Did you get her home safely yesterday?" Alexander asked Edward, expressing concern about Olivia, though there was little need to worry.
"Yes, I took her back to her lobby downstairs," Edward replied.
"You mean Liv? Last night?" Lily realized who they were discussing.
Alexander glanced at her. It seemed sheโd been quite drunk the previous night and didn't remember.
