Chapter 262

"What's most important in modern society? Connections and resources," Frank stated menacingly. "Do you think you'd go far without them, or a famous mentor? Your new product was a success, but what then? Do you think they'd let a newcomer win the annual perfume championship?"

Lily stared at him coldly. "Your point?" she said, clearly impatient with his rambling.

Frank continued, a contorted smile playing on his lips—a smile he likely considered handsome, despite the pain he was still in. He tried to charm her. "A smart lady knows how to seize opportunities. I'm offering you one. Your choice."

Lily glanced around. "Really? I don't see anything."

"It's right here," Frank said, moving closer, almost touching her. "Sometimes you have to look closer… Ouch! Ouch!"

Lily grabbed his uninjured hand and twisted it sharply.

Crack!

This time, it wasn't a fracture; his arm was dislocated.

"Ahh! You bitch!" Frank yelled, his attempt at charm dissolving into curses. "Who do you think you are? I'll make sure you can't survive in this industry! You'll never hold your head high, let alone be a perfumer!"

"Really?" Lily stepped forward. Frank recoiled, fear replacing his arrogance. "What are you doing? Don't come near me! You ungrateful bitch, I—"

He hesitated, noticing her expression. To save face, he blurted, "I'll make sure you can't participate in this year's championship!"

Lily smiled casually, extending her arms, flexing her wrists, and cracking her knuckles. Even with minimal makeup, she was striking, but her words were chilling. "I'll make sure you won't leave this alley upright."

Her gaze drifted to his groin. With one arm fractured and the other dislocated, his legs were his only functioning limbs. He felt a chill as he sensed the threat. He began backing away. "Don't come closer! I'm one of the judges, and if you dare—"

He spun around and fled.

Lily hadn't intended to seriously injure him; his fear was enough. She stretched, working out the tension in her neck and shoulders. Disdain filled her eyes as she thought of Frank. How could anyone consider him a prestigious perfumer? He's a disgrace. No wonder Alex warned me about him. However, further complications remained.
