Chapter 332

"I'm busy, and I'm leaving on a business trip soon," Alexander said.

"Are you saying you don't care about my sister's safety because you're busy?!" Brandon yelled into the phone.

"Hmph. You said it yourself—Brittany's your sister!"

After a moment, Alexander continued, "She's not a little girl anymore. Tell her not to visit my place so often. It's bad for her reputation if people gossip. And how does she have so much free time? Isn't she filming a drama?"

Brandon's realization dawned. "You don't want to spend time with my sister, do you? You know how she feels about you! My parents would love it if you got together. What's wrong with that? Honestly, are you seeing someone?"

Alexander was silent for a moment. "She's your younger sister, and I consider her my younger sister, too. I'm hanging up now. Talk soon. You should go find her."

Alexander hung up and immediately made another call. "Book me a flight to Westwood. I need to leave as soon as possible."

He found the work tedious for the first time.

Life is difficult without her by my side.

The perfumery competition began in the evening, giving participants time to rest in the morning. Instead of last-minute preparations—revising theory or practicing—Lily chose to relax. Her assistant, Giselle, however, was much more anxious.

Giselle spent the morning making calls to company personnel, pacing Lily's room, and glancing at Lily hesitantly.

Lily knew Giselle wanted to say she was too calm, but feared upsetting her. Amusement at Giselle's attitude kept Lily silent.

Toward late morning, Jenny called.

"The competition is this evening, right?"

"Get to the point."

Lily smiled, glancing at a nervous Giselle. "I know you're not nervous, but could you at least pretend, for Giselle's sake? She's dedicated, and she's been nagging me all morning!" Jenny groaned, her helplessness evident.

"I'm not" Lily glanced at Giselle, straightened her back, and said, "Okay. I'm nervous, but I think I can manage. Don't worry. I'll bring glory to the company!"

Giselle visibly relaxed, sighing in relief. Her clenched fists uncurled, and Lily suppressed a laugh. "Thanks for comforting me. I feel much better."

"Hahaha! Is Giselle there? That's enough. She's cautious but weak-hearted. Don't scare her," Jenny laughed.

"Yeah, I got it."

After the call, Giselle approached Lily. "Ms. Christian, don't be nervous. The company trusts you. Just do your best. Winning a prize would be great, but" Giselle paused, afraid to jinx it.

"It's okay. Don't stress," Lily said.

Giselle massaged Lily's shoulders, leaving Lily speechless.

I bet she's been holding it in all day. If I weren't nervous, would she have nothing else to do? Lily knew Giselle meant well, so she played along. "Yeah, I don't feel so anxious anymore."
