Chapter 351

Christopher yelped, "Ah!" Jo, standing nearby, turned to see Christopher's palm impaled by a knife. His gun lay on the floor.

Jo paled, noticing a slight cut on Christopher's ear—another wound inflicted by the knife thrown from behind. He felt a pang of relief at not being the target. Christopher, using his uninjured hand, had aimed the gun at Lily, but she had wounded both his hands.

"I'll kill you!" he cursed incessantly, his gun useless. He frantically ordered the paralyzed Jo, "Jo, kill her! Kill her now!"

"B-But I" Jo's mind blanked. The sight of Lily's strength erased his earlier thoughts. He'd never seen a woman so powerful, completely altering his perception of them.

"What the… why are you still standing…" Christopher began, but a loud siren cut him off. Bright blue lights flashed through the windows.

Christopher stared, stunned. "You called the police?!"

"Everyone, get out!" he yelled. The trio were criminals; capture meant life imprisonment.

Christopher and Jo fled, but Lily seized the opportunity to race upstairs. Frank, attempting to grab her, lost his balance and accidentally clung to Christopher.

"Let go of me!" Christopher shouted, desperate to escape, unconcerned about Lily's actions upstairs. But Frank held on tight.

"You can't just leave. You have to take me with you!" Frank insisted, knowing he'd be implicated if caught.

"Let go! There isn't enough time!" Jo yelled.

Police officers surrounded the building. An officer's voice boomed from a megaphone, "We've got the place surrounded! You will not escape. Unhand the hostage at once!"

Christopher and Jo were bewildered—who was the hostage?

On the second floor, Leonel, bound by ropes, heard the commotion but couldn't move. He hoped his men had prevailed so he could exact his revenge on Lily.

The police sirens grew closer, their blue lights brighter. His anxiety mounted. Escape seemed impossible. Then, the door burst open. A figure rushed in, so quickly Leonel couldn't identify them. He felt the ropes loosen and was free. Confused, he touched his hands; they moved. He turned to the woman in the corner, struggling to comprehend the situation.

'W-What's the meaning of this? Why is the girl okay? Does that mean Christopher and Jo failed? If they did fail, why did she come up here to free me?' He heard police voices and gulped. "You…" he began.

"Shut up!" Lily commanded. Her two words silenced Leonel, terrified of her wrath.
