Chapter 495
Arianna's words, though seemingly unintentional, resonated deeply with Brittany. The idea took root and flourished in Brittany's mind, becoming increasingly compelling. The more she considered it, the more reasonable it seemed. Arianna's experience, witnessed firsthand, provided clarity. Brittany felt a mirroring of Arianna's emotions.
"What are we going to do now?"
"Of course, we're going to buy clothes! I promised Dad!" Arianna said with a smile.
"Okay!" Brittany nodded, turned the steering wheel, and headed toward the shopping mall.
Lily, after a few days of depression, emerged from her slump. She realized it had been merely a nightmare, stirring up painful childhood memories. She refused to dwell on the past.
She still had the Southbank soap to finish and aromatherapy to prepare for her grandfather. Having made a promise, she was determined to fulfill her commitment.
With Olivia still on vacation, Lily was completely dedicated to the lab, working even harder than usual without an assistant. The lab staff were helpful, but lacked Olivia's immediate understanding of Lily's intentions, requiring more explanation and coordination.
Adding to her already heavy workload, Lisa decided to visit, claiming a business trip. She called twice to arrange dinner.
Lily hesitated; time was short. However, Lisa was a good friend who had helped her in Westwood, so a meeting was unavoidable.
Lily called Alexander, informing him she wouldn't be home for dinner, then went to the restaurant. Upon seeing Lisa, she barely recognized her. Lisa wore a pure white down jacket with an oversized fur collar, seemingly tailored to accentuate her figure. Removing the jacket revealed a tight dress that showcased her perfect form.
Lily was stunned. Other diners glanced at them—two striking women inevitably attracted attention.
"I didn't realize! You look so hot!" Lily exclaimed, hand on cheek, tilting her head. "Your body is stunning!"
Lisa had always been curvaceous, tall, slender, and well-proportioned; her figure was undeniably attractive.
Lisa waved her hand. "Well, my job requires it!"
"Your job?" Lily pondered. "I vaguely remember you wanting to be a model, right?"
"Vaguely? I obviously did! Lily, you don't seem to care much about me. How could you forget?" Lisa complained, waving to a waiter. She proudly ordered a salad and lemonade.
"I'm sorry, I was wrong. How about I treat you tonight? Order more food!" Seeing Lisa's meager order, Lily stopped the waiter to add more dishes.
Lisa stopped her. "No, it's okay. Did you forget what I do? I can't eat much, especially before a performance."
"Do you have a show soon?" This explained her business trip.
Lisa nodded. "Yes, and that's why I'm here!"
