Chapter 584

"This girl is so bizarre. Young and competitive, but what's the point of arguing about who wins in this sort of thing? How uninteresting!"

When Lily remained silent, they assumed she was afraid and laughed. "It's obvious you've been caught. Throwing in the towel already?"

"What should we compete in?" Lily's sudden question silenced them.

"We'll see who best identifies the scents," the girl who had mocked Kasey declared, her imposing presence belying her slight stature. She was clearly the leader. "Am I competing against you?" Lily asked, surprised. The group erupted in laughter. "Looking down on her? Do you know who she is? Time for some humility!"

"Kasey, shouldn't you have briefed your actress better before bringing her? How dare she look down on Rachel! You're digging your own grave!"

"Everyone knows Rachel's the scent queen. She inherited her uncle's nose. Do you even know who her uncle is? Heโ€ฆ"

"Enough!" Rachel silenced the gushing praise with a wave. "I'm afraid competing with you might seem like bullying. You'll compete with *him!'" She pointed at the boy who had just spoken.

"How are we competing?" Lily had no desire to bully the children; the opponent mattered little. However, she was loath to forgo this species of grass. Bringing it back would yield an incredible final product.

'Forget it. A warm-up. I'm not doing anything else anyway.'

"We're all wearing perfumes. You have thirty minutes. Whoever correctly identifies the scents and notes of everyone's perfume first wins. Ties will be broken by comparing completion times," Rachel explained after a moment's thought.

Before Lily could respond, Kasey protested, "No! He knows what perfumes you all use. It's unfair!"

"It doesn't matterโ€ฆ" Lily initially dismissed it as child's play.

However, Rachel interjected, "He doesn't. To ensure fairness, we'll spray three different perfumes on ourselves now, and Eric won't know which are which. Is that acceptable?"

"Three?!" Eric protested, but Rachel's stern look silenced him.

"So, is that fair?" Rachel asked Lily.

"Sure. Howeverโ€ฆ" Lily turned to Kasey. "...if I win, you can't go back on your word. I'm buying those two acres of grassland!"

"Fine, but your victory must be convincing. They have to admit I lost!" "Ha! Do you honestly think she'll win?" someone scoffed. "We'll see!"
