Chapter 661

"You dare claim you didn't make the candles?" Henry questioned confidently, knowing he had sufficient evidence. "This lab report exposes you. It says a poisonous substance was in the candles. How can you still lie?"

Lily laughed coldly. "What a joke! Just because the candles contained poison means I did it? You haven't even proven the substance was poison. Why insist it was me?"

Henry, seemingly expecting this response, continued, "I knew you wouldn't admit it. But I have enough proof you made the candles. You admitted giving them to Justin. Are you accusing him now?"

"Also!" Henry signaled a subordinate to bring a box. He presented it to the room. "This box contains unused candles from my father's room. They contained a small dose of poison. Not immediately lethal, but continuous use would have terrifying consequences."

Lily expected this; the results would always be the same. She knew the candles' origin.

"No, that won't be necessary," Lily said, raising her hand to stop the candles from being brought forward. Looking Henry in the eye, she stated, "Whether they were poisonous or not is irrelevant. I didn't make them."

"Still denying it?" Henry laughed. "You admitted making the candles my father used, and now you deny it? Why embarrass yourself?"

"I admitted giving Grandpa two boxes, not others. I'm sure you know where they came from," Lily replied.

Henry felt a pang of panic. Lily remained unwavering, confident, and seemingly in control.

"Of course, I'm sure!" Henry stammered, struggling to control his nervousness. "They were in my father's room, unused, yet responsible for his death! Lily, I'm giving you a chance to atone for your sins against my father. Admit it was an impulsive mistake, pay your dues according to family rules. Refuse, and prison awaits!"

"Honestly, I'm not afraid. We don't know who'll end up in prison," Lily retorted, glancing at Jonathan. "Granduncle, what about you?"

Jonathan, having kept his distance, cleared his throat. "We have sufficient evidence, and it pains me this happened within the family. I know many are unwilling to believe it. But we owe my late cousin and the family an explanation. Lily, even though Wilfred was strict, he loved you. With this evidence, what more do you have to say?"

Lily nodded. "So you're saying I did it?"

"I'm not saying you did it. The facts suggest"

"What facts? Fabricated evidence!" Lily stepped forward, addressing the family members. "It's embarrassing to argue this in front of everyone, but I'm determined to find the truth behind my grandfather's death. Henry showed his evidence; now it's my turn."
