Chapter 677
Justin realized this and released Henry. Henry was powerless; having lost their support, he posed no threat. "Why? Why would this happen?"
Terrified by the approaching dart, Henry trembled violently. Weakened, he slid to the ground as Justin withdrew his hand. His eyes wide, he sat on the floor, unable to recover from his fright. The dart had nearly cost him his life. His gaze fixed on the dart on the ground, the near-death experience replaying in his mind.
His hands clenched into fists; anger filled his heart, but he remained silent, glaring fiercely at the ongoing fight. The three combatants were entangled, but Lily remained unpanicked, seemingly handling the situation with ease. After about ten minutes, crashing sounds signaled Apollo and Creed's defeat. Already injured, Apollo was in critical condition, barely able to stand.
"W-Who are you?" Creed shrieked.
"Go back and tell your master to handle his own family's affairs!" Lily responded coldly.
Ignoring Henry, they helped each other up, glared fiercely at Lily, and then vanished.
Lily calmly approached Henry. Lowering her head, she asked, "What else do you have to say?"
Henry stared at her, incredulous. Was this the gentle girl he knew? Even accounting for the passage of time, her newfound expertise was astonishing.
"Are you okay?" Justin asked.
Lily nodded. She felt only slightly tired; the strange sensation in her body was manageable for now. Justin, too, was surprised by her skills, but the moment wasn't conducive to questioning her.
"Henry," Justin said angrily, "when Grandpa expelled you from the Lodge family, he hoped you'd reflect. After all these years, not only have you not repented, but you've returned to cause trouble! If something happened to the family, how could you face our ancestors?!"
"What do you know?!" Henry retorted, his true colors revealed. "The Lodge family was meant to be mine! There's no reason to pass the inheritance to a grandchild instead of a son. You always favored Justin, Dad! Don't insult me. If you cared about the family, you would have left it in my care! This chaos is your fault for not letting go!"
"You called the police, didn't you? You ruined the family's reputation!" Henry accused, unrepentant.
Stepping closer, Lily asked, "Did Grandfather's death have anything to do with you?!"
Henry looked at her, his expression unreadable, offering neither confirmation nor denial.
"Is it you? Did you poison him?!" Lily's voice sharpened, desperate for the truth. Her hand clenched behind her back as she struggled to control her emotions, fixing her gaze on Henry, preventing him from avoiding her scrutiny.
"It doesn't matter; you've already decided it was me!" he sneered dismissively.
