Chapter 676
Apollo, confident in his strength and skill, nonetheless roared in pain as the attack landed, cracking his bones. Justin, initially poised to intervene, paused, assessing the situation. He noted Lily was unharmed and was shocked by her newly demonstrated abilities; a fortunate turn of events.
Henry, hunched over and nervously watching, felt his own chances dwindling. Clinging to his chair for support, he screamed, "Can't you even take down a little girl?! With skills like that, how will you explain yourself to your master?!"
As Justin reached for him, Henry sensed something was wrong. Panicked, he scrambled back, knocking over his chair and stumbling. Before he could fall, Justin grabbed his arm, his other hand clamping around Henry's throat. "Tell them to stop!" Justin demanded.
"You! How dare you! I'm your uncle!" Henry sputtered.
Justin sneered, his voice icy. "Uncle? Sorry, I don't have an uncle."
"Justin, youโ"
"Tell them to stop, or I'll break your neck!" Justin's grip tightened.
Henry felt himself suffocating, Justin's fingers pressing against an artery. Another squeeze, and his neck would snap. Facing life and death, he choked out, "Stop!"
But no one heeded him. Creed fought even more aggressively, and even the injured Apollo continued to struggle from the ground. Lily fought alone against them both.
"Stop! Didn't you hear me?!" Henry roared. "Stop fighting!"
Still, they ignored him. It was as if Justin and Henry were isolated, the other three oblivious to their struggle. Henry was as stunned as Justin. He hadn't anticipated his own people would disobey him completely.
"Apollo and Creed, did you hear me? If you don't stop, I willโ"
Instinctively, Justin blocked a thrown object, a "clang" echoing as a small, concealed weaponโa needle-like dartโslid to the floor. Had Justin not reacted, Henry would have been hit in the mouth. His face pale with terror, Henry fell silent.
Only then did he realize the Light-Shadow Killers weren't obeying him; his authority was gone.
