Chapter 733

Olivia sighed. "You're right, but that's always been the industry's way."

"Rules are made to be broken!" Lily straightened, slamming her fist on her desk. "I never wanted to interfere, but if they want to fight, I will too."

"But the company" Jenny hesitated, shaking her head. "Never mind. Mr. Russell will be on your side."

Lily shook her head. "No, this is my responsibility. If it hurts the company, I'll quit." She hadn't had much faith in herself before, but after over a year's experience, she believed she could create her own product line. She excelled at perfumery.

Jenny patted Lily's shoulder. Olivia patted the other.

"You have my support, no matter what," Jenny said.

"Yeah, mine too!" Olivia added.

"Thank you, guys," Lily said, heartened by their support. That's what real friends were for.

Meanwhile, Derrick felt better and allowed Joseph to visit him at the hospital. However, he still looked unwell.

"Are you getting better?" Joseph asked, concerned.

"Trying to stay alive," Derrick replied, coughing several times before gesturing for his wife to adjust his pillow. Sitting up, he looked weak and tired.

Joseph carefully studied his brother's expression, sensing that his time was short. He never expected Derrick to fall ill so suddenly.

"Stop saying that. You're just sick. You'll be out of here soon. You still have company decisions to make." Joseph sat on a stool beside the bed, concerned.

Derrick gave him a languid glance and sighed. "I know my body better than anyone. How's the company?"

"Everything's normal. Why? Haven't Shawn and Carson reported to you?" Joseph referred to the two veteran stockholders temporarily managing operations.

"They have, but I kept falling asleep," Derrick said, pausing. "I remember them saying they put your son in charge of a new project."

Joseph chuckled, surprised. "Yes, Damian's leading it, but he has guidance. The project's progressing well, and the new perfumes will launch soon. Hopefully, they'll sell well." His joy was evident.

"That's good. I'm getting older and weaker. The company needs the younger generation." Derrick coughed incessantly, emphasizing his poor condition.

"Derrick" Joseph quickly rose to pat his back. Stephanie brought him a glass of water, which he drank.

"You haven't heard from Benedict? He should return to handle things, considering your condition," Joseph asked tentatively, unsure if Benedict was truly missing.
