Chapter 740

"Is this?" Lily guessed, unsure.

"Do you like it?" Alexander looked around, satisfied with the arrangement.

"What if I like it, and what if I don't? Is it mine if I like it?" Lily asked, half-jokingly, lightly touching a test tube and glaring at him.

"These are new!"

"That's right!" Alexander replied confidently. "It's yours if you like it."

Lily stared, surprised. "You bought all this for me?" She was surprised, despite suspecting as much. She'd only recently considered getting her own studio. Alexander had even chosen the location and overseen renovations. It was incredibly coincidental. Could he read her mind?

"Of course," Alexander said, delighted by her reaction. He placed the keys in her hand. "From now on, this place is yours. I've been working on it for about two months. I thought the location was lovely—quiet enough, with a garden where you can plant materials. It's not huge, but it's a suitable temporary studio."

"Enough? It's more than enough! It's simply too much!" Lily exclaimed. Even with her initial idea, she hadn't envisioned such an excellent space. Two offices would have been fine. The garden alone exceeded her expectations.

"I'm glad you like it!" Alexander said, relieved at her smile. "Speaking of which, shouldn't you reward me for such a gift?"

Lily, on tiptoe, kissed his cheek. Alexander turned his head, kissed her lips, and deepened the kiss. After a long moment, he said, "That will suffice."

"You should be satisfied!" Lily playfully touched his nose.

"I'm never satisfied," Alexander chuckled, releasing her. "I'm a little hungry. I'll get dessert."

"Okay," Lily nodded, watching him go. She turned, exploring the space. Alexander had created a unique laboratory, with tall windows providing ample natural light ideal for her work. He'd even installed shading curtains for experiments requiring less light. Two rows of desks were equipped with computers, printers, and other equipment—far exceeding her expectations. He'd prepared everything she could possibly need. Lily was overwhelmed with joy and excitement.

Soon, Alexander returned with dessert. They sat at the central table, opening the boxes and inhaling the sweet aroma. Lily, though full from earlier burgers with Lisa, felt a warm thirst. Alexander's desserts were perfectly refreshing, and she ate half without realizing it.

"Why did you get me a studio?" she asked.

"Honestly, I only thought about getting you a studio today," he replied.

"Today? You didn't have this idea before?"

Alexander smiled. "Before…," he paused, considering. "I might have, but I don't remember much."

"Even if you did, it was probably a casual thought. Setting up a studio is easier said than done. It takes work to put everything together. The location, renovations, and equipment are expensive. You lacked confidence in your abilities then. Even using all your savings would be unsustainable without sales and recognition."
