Chapter 759
"I'm a friend, not an enemy," Arianna said, lifting her gaze to stare quietly at Noah.
Noah snorted. "Tons of people want to be my friend. Are you even qualified?"
"You'd be the judge of that," Arianna replied.
She put down the tongs, retrieved her phone from her handbag, and tapped the screen a few times. Noah's phone on the table vibrated. Arianna put down her phone and calmly continued grilling the meat.
Noah glanced at her, then at his phone. He picked it up.
"The information is my gift. When we become friends, I'll have a bigger one," she said, placing a piece of grilled meat on his plate.
Noah opened the document, revealing detailed information on Lily. He scanned it. "This is it?" he scoffed. "I can easily find tons of information like this. Do you think I need your help?"
"Of course, you can get information on her," Arianna said calmly, "but even the most capable private investigator couldn't uncover her most private matters. This report came from someone who was once closest to her. Not everyone can get their hands on such information. From what I heard, Mr. Richards, you're investigating her. With this report, wouldn't you say your task is more than half-done?"
Noah narrowed his eyes, re-examining the report. He realized Arianna wasn't bluffing. The report was incredibly detailed, even listing Lily's interests and hobbies.
"Where did you get this report?" he asked.
"You don't need to worry about that, Mr. Richards. All I can say is the information is real, and my intention to be your friend is also real. Now that you know how sincere I am, will you give me a chance?" Arianna offered an attractive smile.
Noah hesitated. "What's your name?"
"Arianna," she said, pausing. "Tanner."
"Arianna Tanner?" Noah frowned, trying to recall. "The Tanner family of Ruby City?"
"Guilty as charged," she chuckled, taking a sip of her drink.
After learning her identity, Noah looked at his food, then back at her. "You didn't go to all this trouble just to be friends, did you? What do you want?" He knew there was no such thing as a free lunch, especially with a stranger. Any claim of friendship without ulterior motives would be hypocritical.
He waited, staring at her.
Arianna leaned forward, resting her chin on her hand, her head cocked as she gazed at him. "What if I tell you that it's you I want?"
Noah's eyebrows shot up. He was speechless. He hadn't expected such boldness.
