Chapter 760
“Aren’t women from wealthy families supposed to be more decorous? Despite your innocent smile, you’re rather bold,” Noah remarked, laughing at her flirtatious comment. Many women pursued him, but her directness was unusual.
“If I recall correctly, we’ve just met. So, you want me?” He leaned forward, meeting her gaze. “What do you want? Fame? Status? My body?”
“I want it all,” she purred.
“Greedy, aren’t you?” He relaxed slightly. “And do you think your information is enough to get you all that?”
“The information is a start, of course. But together, we could create many mutually beneficial situations.” Her gaze held nothing back.
“Mutually beneficial?”
“The Richards family dominates Kingsland, but your true focus lies elsewhere. With the Tanner family's backing, you could achieve anything. They'd support you.”
Tempted, Noah merely smiled. “And what’s in it for you?”
“The Richards family is in politics, the Tanners in business. We complement each other, and it would greatly benefit me.” Her words were plain facts, and she hid nothing. Dropping her inviting smile, Arianna said thoughtfully, “I’m straightforward, Mr. Richards. We’re a perfect match—looks, education, family background. Why not consider me?”
Noah gazed at her thoughtfully. While Arianna was suitable, he'd never considered marriage. He'd dedicated himself to perfumery, considering himself a genius until Lily defeated him. Since then, Lily had been his sole focus; he'd even come here because of her. He hadn't expected Arianna’s sudden, uninhibited declaration. They’d barely met, yet she was planning their future like a business deal.
“Do you have something against Lily Christian?” he asked, seemingly out of the blue.
“No,” Arianna replied, shaking her head. “Why?”
“Didn’t you give me the report to use against…?”
Shaking her head, Arianna laughed. “I think you’ve misunderstood. The information wasn't to get to her, but to impress you.” She placed her hand on his across the table. “As I said, my target is you.”
Noah slowly lowered his gaze to her hand, studying her, assessing her words.
“Don’t worry, Mr. Richards, take your time. After all, we’ll be seeing each other again.” Arianna smiled and left as decisively as she’d arrived.
