Chapter 800
The reporters left, having gathered more than enough material. Their next task was editing the footage for their upcoming posts. This story was sensational, rivaling—or even surpassing—the earlier scandal involving Lily and her allegedly poisonous perfume. Lily's case had only consisted of an audio recording, lacking concrete proof. Furthermore, La Beauté Group's strong background and excellent public relations team swiftly suppressed the news. The subsequent press conference effectively salvaged the company's image, even prompting some to claim the perfumes possessed health benefits, calling them "miracle products."
More surprisingly, Lily resigned from La Beauté Group. While many expected her to become a trophy wife, she instead launched her own studio and brand. Her actions were truly unexpected.
Tanner Corporation's situation was drastically different. Their foray into the perfume industry with their debut product had initially generated immense publicity through various marketing gimmicks, resulting in an immediate sell-out. Yet, within two days, the company faced a major crisis. This time, the evidence against them was irrefutable—witnesses and physical evidence were presented to the media. The reporters speculated on how Tanner Corporation would navigate this situation, given the involved supermodel, Naomi, was already a highly visible public figure and the hospital report was undeniable. The possibility of a hoax only added to the intrigue; who could orchestrate such a plan involving hospital collusion? Regardless, the story was captivating, exciting reporters to investigate further.
Lily watched the crowd disperse before closing the door, sighing. Olivia, noticing Lily's expression, tilted her head. "Do you know them?" she asked.
"Not really," Lily replied. She knew Damian, but they'd never interacted. He merely reminded her of Arianna and their unpleasant past.
"There's a supermodel in the next room," Olivia explained. "Reporters have been in and out for two days." Olivia admitted she hadn't paid any attention to her neighbor.
"How lively!" Lily chuckled. "Make sure you get enough rest, and don't overexert yourself," she cautioned. "Watch your diet—avoid spicy food. Just because you feel fine doesn't mean you can be reckless."
"I know!" Olivia started, her face flushing crimson before she could finish.
"I know what?" Lily prompted.
Lily's teasing quickly revealed Olivia's relationship with Edward wasn't as simple as she'd believed. "Look at you! You haven't told me!" Lily pinched Olivia's cheek. "Take care. I'm going. I'll visit again when I'm free."
"You don't need to keep coming," Olivia insisted, eager to avoid bothering Lily. "I'll be discharged in two days. I'm fine!"
"Hm, I guess I'm not that important when there's a guy in your life," Lily teased good-naturedly.
"That's not—" Olivia began, but Lily interrupted with a chuckle. "All right, I was teasing. I really must go. Are you okay alone?"
"Yeah," Olivia nodded.
