Chapter 823
โAre you two blind? Donโt you know who I am?!โ Joseph roared, believing the bodyguards were disrespecting him. He wondered who they were; heโd never seen them before.
โSorry, no visitors are allowed,โ the two bodyguards replied, remaining impassive and unmoved by his shouting.
โDo I need your permission to visit my brother? Iโll report you to the police for false imprisonment!โ Joseph tried to push past them.
The bodyguards restrained him. Damian seized the opportunity to slip past, but a bodyguard quickly grabbed him.
โThat hurts! Ouch!โ Damian whined. Joseph stopped to attend to him.
โDamian, are you alright? How dare they hurt my son?!โ
โPlease leave,โ the bodyguards said firmly, barring their way.
โFine, just wait!โ Joseph thundered, holding up his phone to make a call. He knew his brother had likely already turned off his phone; it was a show. Yet, he heard a phone ringing, approaching them.
Surprised, he saw Derrickโs wife, Stephanie, approaching with the ringing phone. As always, she appeared emotionless, except for a hint of sorrow.
โJoseph, are you done making a scene?โ
โWeโre notโI just want to visit my brother. Why canโt we go in?โ Joseph said hastily.
โDerrick doesnโt wish to see anyone and wants to rest,โ Stephanie replied, appearing less friendly than usual. Joseph sensed something was wrong.
โDid something happen? There have been some incidents at the company, so I came to see him. Oh, and Damian too. Since I brought him back, he hasnโt met Derrick yet.โ
He hadnโt brought anything, intending to simply wrestle control from his brother. Stephanie noticed this, a cold smile playing on her lips. She thought this revealed their true intentions.
โThereโs no need. Derrick doesnโt want to see anyone,โ she said coldly.
Joseph lost his temper at her refusal. โYouโre too much! Heโs still my brother. Are you stopping me because youโre hiding something, or do you have an agenda? If anything happens to my brother, and I canโt see him one last time, Iโll hold you responsible!โ
Stephanie looked at him askance. Heโs started threatening me. He must be impatient, she thought.
โWhy exactly are you here?โ she sighed. โHave you come to visit your brother, or just to make sure he dies sooner?โ
