Chapter 346
Nathan couldnโt even look me in the eye anymore and softly said, โI guess Iโll just use them slowly since theyโll all come in handy eventually.โ
My mood instantly lifted. A manโs blush really was a catalyst. Tonight might be another sleepless night.
Nathan took me up to the second floor and led me to his master bedroom.
It was a spacious room with a balcony outside, and it felt quite open with hardly any clutter.
Nathan quietly said, โWhy donโt you go take a shower? Iโll tidy up the bed.โ
I looked down at my work outfit and replied, โI didnโt bring a sleeping shirt.โ
Nathan opened his closet, and I saw a row of dress shirts in mostly black, white, gray, and blue.
He handed me a white shirt and said, โYou can wear mine.โ
I accepted it and headed to the bathroom.
Once inside, I realized that a manโs bathroom is really quite simple. Luckily, he had a bottle of menโs face wash that I could use to wash my face.
Nathan knocked on the door. โI forgot to give you a towel. Come get it.โ
I walked over and grabbed the towel.
When I came out, the room was neatly organized, looking even tidier than before.
Nathan was leaning against the bookshelf, his eyes fixed on me, intense and focused.
With just his shirt on, it was clear how tempting I was.
Mainly because of my figure and smooth skin, plus my workout and diet, I felt pretty attractive.
In the light, my messy long hair seemed to shine, and Nathan leaned in closer, his breathing deeper as he said, โTake a look at a book for a bit; Iโll be right back.โ
I nodded.
Sitting in his chair, I reached for a book I could understand, flipped through a few pages, but couldnโt focus on any words.
But then something caught my eye โ a framed photo nearby. I picked it up and saw a picture of a family of five.
The boy in the middle, around ten years old, was probably Nathan, with his grandparents and a middle-aged man. I didnโt see his mother in the picture.
I thought Nathan didnโt quite resemble his father, but he had the same strong brow.
They say daughters take after their fathers, like Yvonne looks like Jared, and sons tend to look like their mothers, so Nathan might look like his mom.
If heโs this good-looking, she must be a beauty too.
When Nathan came out, he was only wrapped in a towel, drying himself off with another towel, and when he saw me holding the frame, he walked over.
โThis is my family; theyโre all gone now,โ he said, sadness in his voice.
I looked at him, feeling sympathetic, and said, โNo matter where they are, they must be proud of you.โ
Nathan smiled and nodded. โYeah, I hope so.โ
I didnโt want to bring up his family anymore, and he seemed fine with that. He went downstairs to feed Goldie and came back up to find me.
I was standing on the balcony, surrounded by thick trees that blocked the view, adding a hint of tranquility and privacy.
Nathan walked over and gently pressed against me from behind. He didnโt say anything; he just leaned his face against the back of my neck, sending waves of warmth.
โLetโs go inside,โ he said, reaching for my hand.
I followed him into the room, and once the balcony door was closed, the cool air from the AC felt refreshing.
Nathan backed me against the door of the balcony and pulled the curtains shut.
He approached me gently, inch by inch, making the night feel romantic and intimate.
I really loved this feeling of being respected and cared for.
