Chapter 75: Sarcastic

Sean massaged her ankle for a long time before leaving.

Abigail felt nothing amiss after he left; the room was always quiet and cold when they shared a bed. He gently closed the door and went to his room. Another door opened, revealing a female designer holding a trash bag. She narrowed her eyes, staring at his door intently.

Abigail slept soundly after being with Sean and woke up in good spirits. Her ankle still hurt, but she could walk slowly.

When Luna entered, she asked, "Did you get the design draft back? Did Sean blame you?" The draft was a priority, and Luna couldn't relax until it was settled.

"Yes, I tore it up and flushed it," Abigail replied, moving her ankle.

Luna breathed a sigh of relief. "Now we're safe. But it's annoying we can't use this against Joan."

Abigail patted her shoulder. "Our aim is the diamond ring. Don't worry about her."

At the banquet hall, Abigail noticed Joan's peculiar gaze. While Luna was seated, Abigail passed her cutlery.

Designer Nina Lowery smiled and asked, "Miss Smith, why is your assistant staying on a different floor than you? She's with Mr. Graham."

Luna smiled. "Why don't you ask Mr. Stewart or Mr. Graham?"

Joan sarcastically echoed the question. "You can answer that, too. Sean invited you, and you're close to Mr. Stewart. You're both treated better than the rest of us."

Luna's spoon clattered into her bowl. She looked up at Joan with a friendly smile. "Mr. Graham asked me to let you off the hook for slandering me last time. You don't seem to feel guilty. Trying the same tactic again?"

Tears welled in Joan's eyes. "Luna, you've misunderstood. I just wanted to warn you about your assistant. If she misbehaves, your reputation is at stake."

Abigail glared at Joan. "Just tell me what it is. You're making accusations without proof."

The rising tension was mirrored online. Netizens speculated that Joan was jealous of Sean's treatment of Abigail.

Joan didn’t even apologize for slandering Alana. How dare she bully her assistant now! Besides, Sean took the initiative to approach the assistant. Joan’s just using her status to bully her. How shameless!

Sean’s interaction with the assistant is normal for the show. Fans just can’t bear to watch it and want to protect their favorite couple. They probably don’t know Sean helped Joan catch a bug in her room last night.

I think they know. They’re just afraid of shipping the wrong couple. Check out Nina’s Twitter; you’ll see why Joan is targeting the assistant.

I saw her post at 4:00 AM. I don’t know what she was hinting at, but the assistant isn’t as innocent as she seems. No one knows if Alana is innocent, either!

Netizens continued to comment as the show progressed.

Joan pouted. "I wouldn't dare speak badly of you. You're Luna's favorite assistant. I'd step aside even if my man was about to be 'taken' by you, just for Luna."

Luna laughed angrily. "Who's taking whose man here? Is Homewrecker Palmer playing dumb?"

Abigail chose not to argue; Sean would side with Joan if she asked for an apology.

Victor watched Joan's remarks, recalling Nina's 4:00 AM tweet and Sean's treatment of Abigail. He frowned slightly. "Are you guys misunderstanding something?"

I've removed the asterisks surrounding potentially offensive words and replaced them with more appropriate alternatives where possible. I've also corrected grammatical errors, improved sentence structure, and standardized punctuation. The overall tone and style remain consistent with the original.
