Chapter 82: Being Helpless

Abigail touched her camera bag and lowered her gaze. “What if I am? Since you were watching from the shadows, you should have seen it started with Joan.”

Sean silently observed her.

She didn't want to discuss it. Many strange things had happened on the production team, and she found it surreal. "Even if it's because of Joan, she's not someone Victor would offend," he said calmly.

Her lips curled into a sneer. "If you'd said from the beginning this was Joan's show, everyone would have praised her, and I wouldn't have clashed with Miss Smith."

Sean stood before her, raising a hand to pinch her chin. "Do you understand you're opposing me for Victor's sake?"

Abigail met his gaze. "How could I dare oppose you? The production team was established to launch Joan's career. My argument with her was my mistake, dragging Victor into it."

"Abigail, are you insinuating I'm suppressing all of you for Joan?" He tightened his grip slightly.

She ignored him. It was obvious, but he pretended to be righteous. However, remembering Victor's help, she softened. "I didn't mean that. What do I have to do for you to let Victor go?"

Sean's displeasure flashed in his eyes. "If you hadn't brought this up, I wouldn't have gone after him, but I've decided to let him go tomorrow."

"He stood up to Nina for us, and the incident at four a.m. is true. Is it reasonable to punish him for his efforts? Is this production team solely under your control?" Abigail's anger flared.

Sean's voice turned cold. "Do you think I can't resolve this without him speaking up? You've shifted the blame and pretended to know nothing. Haven't you?"

Abigail nodded slightly. "True. Others can't make mistakes, but you can have the team edit yours out."

His eyes darkened. "Is a male model worth this anger, Abigail? You got too close to him, yet you're bringing up irrelevant things."

She was stunned.

He stared coldly. "Even with our secret marriage, does that give you the right to be openly with another man on the production team to boost L.Moon's popularity?"

"He helped me because he saw my injured leg," Abigail replied coldly. "That's not being openly with another man. Don't be absurd."

She couldn't help but point out his own ambiguous relationship with Joan. He seemed agitated only because someone showed her kindness.

"Do you really think it's not about that? Do you know what he's thinking? Anyone who makes it in this industry isn't innocent. Do you believe he offended Joan for you?" Sean's words were cold and mocking.

"It's better to be misunderstood than for you to not explain anything. Did I ask you to stay in my room? You caused me trouble, made me an outcast, and now you're blaming me?"

Abigail found his behavior inexplicable. In reality, his insistence on their relationship on the production team was the root cause.

"Is there a problem with being in my wife's room?" Sean retorted.

Abigail forced herself to remain calm. "There's no problem. I don't want to argue. I have to return to work. As for Victor, I'll handle it discreetly and hope you'll give him a chance."

Sean pursed his lips in silence.

She looked into his eyes. "This mess is because of our relationship on the production team. Since he helped me, I don't want to drag him into this. Sean Graham, we're still a couple. Can't you compromise?"

He reached out and grasped her waist. "Just this once. Pay attention to your words and actions. Don't allow him to get close to you."

"I understand." Abigail pulled away, her attitude cold. "I'll leave now. Miss Smith will be angry if I'm late."

An oppressive feeling lingered in Sean's heart. Even with her compromise, he wasn't relieved. Her indifference made him believe her apology wasn't genuine; it was for Victor.

Enduring the leg pain, Abigail entered the elevator and looked at her reflection. She couldn't help but smile bitterly.
