Chapter 118: He Looks Good in Anything

After Maggie got into the car, Nathaelโ€™s gaze remained indifferent as he casually flipped through a financial magazine, seemingly oblivious to the letter sheโ€™d left him days earlier. Despite this, the drawing sheโ€™d made of him felt undeniably real.

Setting aside the letter, Maggie was confident in her artistic skills.

The drive was peaceful. Nathael showed no inclination to make things difficult, relieving Maggie and making her question whether sheโ€™d misjudged him. Since they were staying in the bustling city center, they arrived at Misk Cityโ€™s largest international shopping complex in about ten minutes.

As a fashion capital, the complex boasted an impressive array of brands, including various limited editions, new designs, and designer labels. Something for everyone, truly. Maggie, however, suddenly felt a pang of anxiety about her wallet. Shopping in one of the worldโ€™s most expensive places, for the worldโ€™s most expensive brands, for the worldโ€™s most expensive manโ€”it seemed extravagant. Maggie mused that if he werenโ€™t Nathael, she would have run.

โ€œDo you have any particular favorite brands or designers?โ€ Maggie asked, turning to him.

Among the many foreign faces, Nathael didnโ€™t look out of place. His striking features and distinctive look made him stand out, causing many to mistake him for a celebrity. โ€œJust take a look,โ€ Nathael remarked flatly, glancing at her.

Maggie nodded. His request seemed reasonable, and she wanted to explore the mallโ€™s distinctive architecture and decor as well.

Nathael led the way into a menโ€™s clothing store, followed by Maggie.

โ€œSir, madam, itโ€™s my pleasure to serve you. My name is Sofia, and I hope I can be of assistance.โ€ The sales associate began in a foreign language, seamlessly switching to English once communication was established. She enthusiastically began her presentation: โ€œThis black suit is this yearโ€™s top designer look, with a sleek and sharp cut and a light, soft fabric. Thereโ€™s an interesting detail on the lining of the hemโ€”a string of embroidered foreign words that says, โ€˜The most beautiful rose is bestowed upon you.โ€™โ€ Maggie listened silently.

While she didnโ€™t understand why a designer would include such an ambiguous phrase, she had to admit the suitโ€™s quality and style were excellent.

โ€œDo you like it?โ€ Maggie asked warmly, her eyes clear and sincere, lacking their usual cunning.

โ€œItโ€™s alright,โ€ Nathael replied softly. Maggie prompted, โ€œThen try it on.โ€

Nathael was willing to participate in an impromptu fashion show, and Maggie wasnโ€™t about to miss it. After all, she hadnโ€™t had the chance to properly observe him in her previous life. Today, she could enjoy it to the fullest. Finding his clothes always pleasing to the eye, Maggie became excited. โ€œThis one, this one, and this one too; try them all!โ€ Enthusiastically, Maggie selected several different suits, discussing them with Sofia and coordinating shirts and shoes.

Ten minutes later, Maggie and Sofia brought the clothes to the fitting room. Nathael paused, taking in the more than twenty suits on the rack before averting his gaze and looking at Maggie.

Maggie smiled earnestly. โ€œYou have to find styles and fits that suit you, and you should also try types you wouldnโ€™t normally consider. Be bold!โ€ Nathaelโ€™s dark pupils met her lively eyes. He smiled lightly. โ€œOkay.โ€

Alex, nearby, couldnโ€™t help but touch his nose after hearing Maggieโ€™s words. When he saw Nathael actually entering the fitting room, his jaw dropped. This woman was formidable! His boss loathed trying on clothes, usually having them custom-made by a select few designers and never considering off-the-rack options. Nathael was not one for the hassle of trying on clothes.

After Nathael entered the fitting room, Maggie sat on the sofa, sipping her juice, in a good mood. Sheโ€™d spent money on a suit and watched the dignified Mr. Harris perform a fashion showโ€”well worth it. But why was Nathael so agreeable? It was unlike him.

A bad feeling, for no apparent reason, washed over Maggie. She quickly dismissed it, telling herself she was overthinkingโ€”it was just a suit; what could he possibly do?

Minutes later, Nathael emerged from the changing room in a dark blue suit. Maggie was momentarily stunned. His posture was impeccable; his features sharp. His long, deep-set eyes and straight nose were captivating. His beauty was striking, instantly drawing attention and making it hard to look away. Maggie had to admit watching a man like Nathael dress up was a pleasant sight.

โ€œNot bad,โ€ Maggie sincerely affirmed.

Nathael raised an eyebrow, responding indifferently, โ€œI think so too.โ€ His response left Maggie speechless.

A few minutes later, Nathael changed into a silver-gray suit. This more mature and stable look was still stunning. Maggie stood up to fully appreciate it. โ€œIt seems pretty good on you too,โ€ she admitted.

After Nathael tried on six or seven suits, Maggie realized something: this man looked good in everything! She remembered the saying, โ€œSome people look good even in a sack.โ€ Clearly, Nathael was one of those people. With broad shoulders, a narrow waist, and lean hips, he looked slim in clothes but muscular without them. His face was strikingly handsome, flawless.

โ€œThis one is quite nice too,โ€ Maggie commented, watching him in yet another suit, unable to utter anything insincere.

Nathael arched an eyebrow, leisurely adjusting his cuffs as he looked at Maggie. โ€œJust quite nice?โ€

Maggie was speechless.

โ€œItโ€™s more than just nice! Itโ€™s extremely good-looking! Absolutely stunning! Mr. Harris, you could live off your good looks alone! Everything looks good on you!โ€ Maggie wholeheartedly flattered him, her earnestness shining through her eyes. She reasoned that flattery was harmless and might prevent him from bringing up past issues.

A second later, Maggie couldn't help but laugh. Nathael grinned slightly. Without changing, he turned to Sofia. โ€œIn that case, wrap everything up for me.โ€
