Chapter 294: Telling the World About It

The following morning, as the sun rose, the man in the hospital bed stirred. His eyelids fluttered open like butterfly wings, and Nathael slowly opened his eyes. Across from him, Maggie sat in a chair beside the bed, her head tilted in light sleep. Nathael paused, then shifted his gaze to her.

Her small, pale face bore two faint scratches, giving her a weary yet serene appearance. Nathael gently brushed her hair.

Sensing his movement, Maggie awoke and sat up. "You're awake! How are you feeling?" she asked.

"I'm okay. Come, lie down beside me," Nathael said, his voice husky, making room for her on the bed.

"You should drink some water first," Maggie said, pouring a glass of warm water, her expression filled with concern. "Should I call the doctor?"

"No need. It's not serious. I know my body," Nathael reassured her.

Maggie stared at him incredulously, tears welling in her eyes. "Not serious? Not serious?! A broken finger isn't serious?"

Seeing her distress, Nathael felt a pang of worry. He sat up, took her wrist, and pulled her closer. "Why are you crying? I'm really fine."

Maggie remained silent, unable to bear the sight of his reattached finger, which would require extensive rehabilitation and never regain full dexterity.

"Are you upset?" Nathael asked gently. Maggie sniffled, her mood low.

Suddenly, Nathael gasped.

"What's wrong?" Maggie asked, alarmed.

Nathael's face paled. "Is something wrong? Should I call the doctor?"

Maggie started to leave, but Nathael grabbed her wrist. His features sharpened, his grip tightening as he said in a low voice, "My heart hurts."

Maggie was stunned. "What's wrong with your heart?"

Anxious thoughts flooded her mind. She hadn't heard anything about heart problems from the doctor. Her eyes welled up. Then Nathael said, "My heart hurts because you're ignoring me."

Maggie snapped, frustrated. "Nathael! How dare you trick me!"

Nathael calmly raised an eyebrow. "No, it really hurts."

Maggie was furious, but instead of storming out, she glared at him, her almond-shaped eyes reddening.

Nathael kissed her, pulling her onto the bed.

Maggie turned away. "Don't touch me. Careful of your wound."

Nathael's lips brushed her ear and neck. "It'll be fine if you don't move," he murmured, his dark eyes intense. He had almost lost her. He kissed her tenderly, as if afraid to break the moment.

A knock interrupted them. Leslie entered, wearing a white coat.

Maggie recoiled, pushing Nathael away. A blush crept onto her cheeks. Nathael seemed upset.

Leslie checked Nathael's vitals and quipped, "Seems like having Maggie around works better than any magic potion."

"Get lost!" Nathael said impatiently.

Leslie, unfazed, changed his bandages. "I need to return to Aquapolis at noon. What are your plans?"

Nathael considered briefly. "We'll return to Aquapolis."

Following sections: These sections need similar editing for grammar, punctuation, and sentence structure. The repeated use of exclamation points should be toned down for better flow. Consider combining short, choppy sentences for a more mature writing style. Remember to consistently use either American or British spelling.

The final sentences ("Send Gifts $19") appear unrelated to the story and should be removed.
