Chapter 310: Wait For Me, My Girl

Maggie was uncertain. She couldn't help but think that perhaps forgetting and letting go might bring more happiness. However, it was easier said than done. Letting go of thoughts brings boundless freedom, yet how many people truly escape the mundane?

She decided that, if everything went according to plan, Nathael wouldn't see her in her wedding dress beforehand. She wanted to save the "first look" for him. Unfortunately, there wouldn't be a wedding. This thought brought memories of Phillip and Fiona; she wouldn't have her father's hand to hold or her mother to do her hair.

Once, her world was so dark, filled with hatred. Resentment and hatred sustained her. But now, she realized there was still much beauty to cherish.

The makeup artist and stylist, working quickly with Maggie's good complexion as a base, completed her look in under half an hour. The first dress she tried on was the one Howard had recommended.

The store manager watched closely as the dress was adjusted, ensuring everything was perfect. She presented several shoe options before softly describing the dress: "The roses embellishing the waistline are Damascus roses, each petal painstakingly hand-sewn. Below the waistline, 1,314 diamonds are meticulously stitched, creating a dazzling gradient from dense to sparse. The second layer of the skirt is adorned with one hundred pearls. The balance between the skirt's fullness and drape, allowing the pearls' luster to shine through the thin fabric and complement the diamonds, is truly breathtaking."

The store manager, possessing a deeper understanding of the brand than the assistant manager, watched Maggie try on her shoes. Turning around, she exclaimed, "Oh my, it's stunning! Mr. Harris will be utterly captivated. Ms. Adam, you are the most beautiful bride I've ever seen. You truly resemble a goddess."

Several onlookers murmured their admiration as Maggie, gazing at her reflection, stood on the platform. This was what she looked like in a wedding dress. She was experiencing life in two different worlds; this was her first time seeing herself like this.

In her previous life, when she married Nathael, he'd arranged a wedding gown. But then, filled with bitterness, she'd shredded it. Later, he had another dress made for her, but soon after, Leo died.

Now, looking at her radiant reflection, though sorrow lingered in her eyes, an indescribable happiness shone through. She smiled and said, "Let me take some photos with my phone."

"No problem. Our photographer is outside. They can help, or you can take photos with Mr. Harris, whichever you prefer."

"I'd like to send them to my friends first." Maggie was impatient, eagerly anticipating Nathael's reaction, but mischievously decided to delay a few minutes, wanting to tease him and watch his reaction.

The store manager enthusiastically took several photos, then handed Maggie her phone. "Ms. Adam, you look beautiful in every photo." "Thank you. Your dresses are beautiful, and I love the makeup and styling."

Meanwhile, Nathael was looking at a magazine another brand had given him, filled with their wedding dress styles from the past year or two. The store manager explained each design.

A few minutes earlier, Vanessa had left the makeup room. Seeing Maggie gone, she approached Nathael. "Mr. Harris, hasn't Maggie come out yet?"

Nathael, with deep, unwavering eyes, replied in a low voice, "I'm not acquainted with you, Ms. Brown." This ended the conversation abruptly.

Vanessa's face paled with anger, but she dared not show it. "I just thought Maggie must look beautiful in a wedding dress," she stammered, trying to mask her true feelingsโ€”she felt charming and wanted to charm Nathael. If he'd shown the slightest interest, she might have had a chance. But his gaze was cold and merciless, fixed only on Maggie.

Disappointed, Vanessa turned to Joseph. "Joseph, what do you think?"

Joseph simply nodded. "Quite beautiful."

"Really? I was worried I wasn't tall enough to carry the dressโ€ฆ" Vanessa's words were cut short as Maggie emerged from the fitting room.

Nathael rose immediately, gazing intently at her, as if memorizing her appearance. Maggie's cheeks flushed, her earlier excitement turning to nervousness. Her heart pounded.

She stood still, looking at him several meters away, her eyes slightly moist, a smile playing on her lips. Nathael's gaze remained fixed on her.

Her hair fell loosely, with soft curls. She wore a simple, elegant white veil. The spaghetti straps of the dress showed off her collarbones, her flawless complexion glowing. Her slender waist was alluring. She looked like a fairy, the veil exquisite and balanced between elegance and simplicity.

Nathael wanted nothing more than to have her all to himself.

Maggie shyly asked, "Do I look good?"

Nathael said slowly, "Gorgeous. You've captured my heart."

Maggie's smile widened. "The store manager mentioned a photographer. Would you like to pick an outfit and take photos with me?" She couldn't resist capturing this moment, to cherish in the difficult times ahead.

The manager added, "Mr. Harris, would you like to try on some suits?"

Nathael didn't hesitate. He walked to Maggie, his hand gently circling her waist. He kissed her, whispering, "Wait for me, my girl." Maggie stiffened, unable to move.
