Chapter 337: Vibrant Places
Madam Cameron, anxious to speak, was cut off by Nathael. In a deep voice, he said, "Furthermore, the 150 million has been transferred to a trust fund. Withdrawal requires prior arrangement with the manager." This single sentence left Madam Cameron and her group pale.
Ronald, agitated, asked, "Mr. Harris, does this mean the money is unusable?"
Maggie echoed the question, "Can the money be withdrawn?"
"Yes, but it requires prior arrangement," Nathael replied seriously. He omitted mentioning that he'd dispersed the funds—in amounts ranging from 75,000 to 450,000—into Maggie's various investment accounts. Withdrawal required at least three months' notice, with processing taking another half-month to a month.
The Camerons, needing the money urgently, were frustrated. Ronald, slightly relieved that withdrawal was possible, asked, "How much advance notice is needed?" "One to three months," Nathael replied gently.
Although Ronald didn't fully understand the complexities, the need for prior notice for even ordinary expenses eased his concerns somewhat. Seeing the money in a fund managed by Maggie provided a measure of relief. After further reassurance from Maggie and Nathael, the Camerons departed.
The atmosphere at the Cameron home grew tense. Master Cameron worried, "Ronald, are we sure we'll get that money?"
Madam Cameron added, "We've given so much to Maggie, and haven't seen any return. We can't continue this."
Noah suggested quietly, "Perhaps Maggie can acquire projects from the Adams. What projects do they have?"
Ronald, thoughtful, said slowly, "I'm unsure of Nathael's intentions, but it seems he's aiming to elevate Maggie's position within both the Adams and Camerons."
Master Cameron mused, "That's understandable. However, with effort, it should work out."
Olivia worried, "But we've given away so much. What if we don't get the money?"
Ronald, in a deep voice, said, "Don't worry. I have a plan. I'll ensure she uses this money for our family."
Later, Nathael reassured Maggie, explaining the intricacies of the funds. He hadn't actually given the Camerons the money.
"Why cause trouble?" Maggie asked.
Nathael replied, "Ronald suspects you, and wants to maximize gains before things escalate."
Maggie was stunned. "He's investigating me?"
Nathael nodded. "Discreetly, but there are always clues."
Maggie remained silent, her thoughts heavy. Ronald had tested her before. This large sum was a significant test. Regardless of his findings, she didn't care. The Camerons were vulnerable, and she would withdraw soon. However, her parents' deaths remained unsolved, and the Camerons' plans against the Adams remained a mystery.
Later, Alex's car stopped at a bustling Aquapolis alleyway. The lively commercial strip, brimming with food stalls and shops, offered a vibrant atmosphere that appealed to Maggie's indecisive appetite.
The alley, illuminated by LED screens, featured a mix of modern buildings and bustling street life. Nathael kept Maggie safe amidst the crowds.
Maggie excitedly listed food options: "Wings, kebabs, yogurt bowl"
"What are you in the mood for?" Nathael asked.
He suggested hand-pulled noodles at a nearby shop. The noodle maker's lively performance captivated a crowd.
Maggie decided on wings from a nearby shop and hand-pulled noodles. However, the noodle shop had a long line, suggesting at least an hour's wait.
