Chapter 392: I'm Fed Up With You!

โ€œWhatโ€™s up? I heard my brotherโ€™s got you under lock and key,โ€ Timothyโ€™s voice crackled through the phone, a hint of cheekiness in his tone. Maggie lowered her gaze and replied casually, โ€œYou seem quite well-informed.โ€

โ€œNeed a hand? Why not tell him youโ€™ve fallen for me instead?โ€ Timothy suggested, a mischievous glint in his eyes.

Maggie chuckled. โ€œIโ€™m afraid heโ€™ll tear you limb from limb.โ€

Timothy mused, โ€œIs that so? Sounds exciting.โ€

Maggie closed her eyes and rubbed her temples. Then, through the phone, she heard Timothy say, โ€œThree days. Iโ€™ll give you three more days, or else donโ€™t blame me for finding other ways to make him suffer. If I donโ€™t see any progress in three days, Iris wonโ€™t treat you anymore. So you better plan accordingly.โ€

Timothyโ€™s words only worsened Maggieโ€™s already sour mood, fueling her frustration.

โ€œYouโ€™re quite generous, giving me so much time to work things out!โ€ Maggie retorted sarcastically, seething with anger.

Timothy raised an eyebrow. โ€œGlad you understand.โ€

Maggie closed her eyes and said calmly, โ€œThree days is too short. Make it a week.โ€

Timothy chuckled. โ€œA week? Sure, but remember to send me a photo of Nathael heartbroken.โ€

โ€œGet lost!โ€

Maggie ended the call in frustration, feeling utterly fed up.

After some thought, she messaged Mia, updating her on the situation.

Mia, currently enjoying a spa session, was surprised by the bombshell in Maggieโ€™s message.

โ€œWow! Is this some kind of imprisonment drama?โ€

Maggie was so irritated she almost blocked Mia, but after a while, Mia replied, โ€œAre you breaking up? Or is it just a heat-of-the-moment thing?โ€ Maggieโ€™s throat tightened, and she replied bluntly, โ€œItโ€™s serious.โ€

Mia didnโ€™t ask further questions. After a while, she said, โ€œWhen Nathael isnโ€™t home, pick a time, and Iโ€™ll come to see you.โ€

Maggie considered this and agreed. After all, Nathael had only said she couldnโ€™t go out; he hadnโ€™t said others couldnโ€™t visit.

Chapter 392: Iโ€™m Fed Up With You!

Not long after, she heard Nathael leave the study and enter the bathroom. Maggie quickly turned off the lights and lay down, her back to him. Her heart ached faintly, but she also felt an inappropriate sense of relief that they were still together.

However, she knew that Timothy and Master Harris wouldnโ€™t give her more time, and her body couldnโ€™t handle it either. She had to end things cleanly and focus on getting treatment.

Lost in thought, Nathael opened the door and entered. In the pitch-black room, every sensation seemed magnified, and Maggie could feel his movements. Soon, he lay down beside her.

Neither spoke, and Maggie felt uneasy. She didnโ€™t know if she was doing the right thing, but it seemed she had no other choice.

In her past life, she hadnโ€™t had much time left, and Nathael had hidden this from her. She sensed that during that time, he had become increasingly silent and irritable. Although he never changed his behavior towards her, she had secretly witnessed him losing his temper many times. She hadnโ€™t seen his body grow thinner from his increasing workload, nor the dark circles under his eyes. However, she felt his pain and despair acutely.

Maggie didnโ€™t want him to suffer alongside her in despair, clinging to hope only to be repeatedly disappointed. She didnโ€™t want him to resort to desperate measures, like a madman, searching for ways to extend her life regardless of the consequences. She also didnโ€™t want him to lose his mind as he did in her past life, seeking revenge on the Camerons after her death. She wished for a bright future for him. Even when standing alone in a high place, it felt lonely and sad. But Maggie never viewed love as essential to life. She believed he would cope, and someday, he would adjust to life without her.

When lost in thought, someone approached. Nathael wrapped his arms tightly around her waist, his strong arms encircling her slender frame. He closed his eyes, inhaling the scent of her hair. It seemed that only this way could he confirm she was still there, not gone.

โ€œNanaโ€ฆโ€ Nathaelโ€™s voice was low, struggling to accept her harshness. There must be a reason. She did say she loved him.

โ€œCanโ€™t we stay together?โ€ he whispered, his voice almost pleading.

Chapter 392: Iโ€™m Fed Up With You!

Maggieโ€™s heart twisted as she heard him, biting her lip to hold back the tears welling in her eyes.

Nathael lightly kissed her neck and murmured, โ€œIโ€™ll change what you donโ€™t like about me. Okay?โ€

โ€œIf you feel trapped, Iโ€™ll set you free,โ€ Nathael said quietly.

Maggie looked down, hiding her tears, and tried to sound indifferent. โ€œNathael, you know this wonโ€™t make me stay. Canโ€™t we just part ways amicably?โ€

Nathael turned her around, his dark eyes meeting hers. He noticed the tears in her eyes and asked, โ€œYouโ€™re sad, so why do you want to break up?โ€

Maggie looked up at him, tears still clinging to her lashes. She smiled lightly. โ€œNathael, you should know, at first, I was using you. But I have to admit, youโ€™re a pretty likeable guy. But I never planned to be with you.โ€ Nathael stubbornly stared at her, his eyes dark and deep.

โ€œBefore, I used you against the Camerons, but after seeing what they were really like, I started using you against them. Itโ€™s not fundamentally different, but to make it seem different, I naturally had to put in some genuine effort. I appreciate it, but I donโ€™t want to be with you anymore. I do love you, but honestly, not that muchโ€ฆโ€ Maggie said.

โ€œThatโ€™s enough! Stop talking!โ€ Nathael cut in coldly.

But Maggie persisted, โ€œKeeping me around doesnโ€™t do you any favors. My past has made me someone who always looks out for myself. I donโ€™t want to keep using you.โ€

โ€œSo, everything before was just using me? Then what about the things you said, the things you did?โ€ Nathaelโ€™s eyes grew dark and desperate, tinged with redness at the corners.

Maggie pushed him away slightly and said coldly, โ€œLetโ€™s cut our losses and call it quits.โ€

Nathaelโ€™s voice turned cold and heavy. โ€œBut you said you love me.โ€

Maggie chuckled mockingly. โ€œDonโ€™t you get it? Today I love you, tomorrow I can love someone else. I donโ€™t believe in love. Loving someone is so easy. As long as theyโ€™re good-looking, wealthy, and treat me well, whatโ€™s the difference?

โ€œI might get sad, but sadness doesnโ€™t last long. In a few days, thereโ€™ll be better options,โ€ Maggie said.

Nathael tightened his grip on her arm. โ€œIf it can be one, why canโ€™t it be me?โ€

Feeling frustrated, Maggie pushed him away, sat up, and said sharply, โ€œNathael, canโ€™t you get it? Iโ€™m fed up with you. Iโ€™m done playing around! So I want to find someone new to have fun with!โ€
