Chapter 101
Victor nodded. "That's for sure. As long as he's powerless, we have nothing to fear!"
Jada agreed. "Yeah. I heard he was just released from prison a couple of days ago for smashing a beer bottle over Easton's head. Easton used his connections to get him sent there."
Victor chuckled. "If he could be imprisoned, he clearly lacks connections. Only the weak suffer the full force of the law. Severin is just an ordinary person!"
He'd worried Severin might be powerful because he was staying in the villa. However, learning how easily the Loughs dealt with him, he realized there was nothing to fear.
Jada, though, had a concern. "Dad, Severin's wife is Diane Shanahan. Five years ago, she had a child out of wedlock and was disowned. We might offend the Shanahans if we're too harsh on Severin."
Prunella's heart sank. She feared this would hinder her son's revenge.
Victor considered this. "We needn't worry. Diane was disowned over five years ago. The Shanahans have long since rejected her. Secondly, our family has prospered. We've connected with a Liberty City project manager, securing a quota that will elevate us to second-tier status. The Shanahans have declined; we have nothing to fear."
He paused. "Besides, I heard Edward Horsfield still fancies Diane and offered her family a million and a half if she marries him. What happens if Severin becomes disabled?"
Jada's eyes widened. "The Shanahans might be grateful! And Edward would be grateful too. We'd gain favor with the Horsfields!"
"Exactly! Hahaha!" Victor laughed. "Disabling Severin benefits everyone. Diane will become insignificant, and Edward will be pleased once she marries him!"
"All right, Victor! Let's do it!" Prunella exclaimed.
"Dad, Severin's a skilled fighter. He wouldn't have faced our restaurant's thugs alone. Our bodyguards are strong, but let's bring more—our strongest fighters," Jada insisted.
"All right. Let's choose the best men," Victor said, striding out.
Jada had an idea and called Easton.
"Why are you calling?" Easton was upset. He'd tried unsuccessfully to be intimate with Lucy the previous night and had gone out drinking.
Jada said, "Good news! Severin will be crippled soon! My father's choosing our best bodyguards. My aunt begged him to cripple and sterilize Severin."
"Really? Fantastic! I'm coming! Lucy'll be thrilled!" Easton was ecstatic and rushed from the bar. He then called Lucy, who was shopping nearby.
Jada smirked. "Oh, Severin. Smug last night? You'll soon learn I'm not a pushover!" She left.
