Chapter 122

Severin smiled politely. "I don't know how to thank you both for Blade's help last night and yours today!"

Larry chuckled heartily. "Haha, you're more than welcome. Consider me your elder brother from now on. After all, you treated my mother—that's more important than anything!"

Severin smiled. "You're too kind! Let's continue to help each other in the future."

Maurice looked relieved. His son had proven capable and promising, eliminating any worry about Easton causing trouble now that Severin had befriended Larry.

"Alright then! We'll be going now!" Larry and Blade said goodbye to Severin's family and drove off.

Diane approached, catching a faint scent of alcohol. "Did you drink?" she asked.

Severin smiled. "Yes, Hall Master Larry was very insistent. I tried to decline paying the medical expenses, but he insisted, and then insisted on driving me home. I felt bad refusing."

Diane was pleased. "Why refuse? It's good you got to know them better. They helped us a lot today; even if he hadn't bought you a drink, you should have offered to buy them one."

Severin chuckled. "All's well as long as my wife isn't angry about the drinks!"

Diane rolled her eyes playfully. "What are you talking about? I'm not a tigress! I don't expect to control your every move, or stop you from having a drink. I'm fine as long as it's not with other women."

Severin boasted, "Other women? Certainly not! I have such a gentle, virtuous, generous, and kind-hearted wife. No other woman compares!" Diane's heart swelled, but she bashfully rolled her eyes. "Oh, quit your nonsense. I'm not that good."

Maurice chuckled. "He's right though. You are a good daughter-in-law!"

Selene looked up at Diane proudly. "My mom's super beautiful too!"

Diane glared at Severin, a mixture of amusement and exasperation. "Your daughter's taking after you, Severin. She's even learned to sweet-talk like you!"

Severin laughed. "But I'm telling the truth!"

Later that night, Severin was surprised to see six stylishly dressed women arrive at their door.

Their leader, with long curly hair, was the most beautiful. She wore white casual shoes, short jeans showing off long legs, a white shirt, sunglasses, and large earrings.

Diane, playing with Selene in the yard, frowned at their arrival. "And you are?" she asked.
