Chapter 121

Easton panicked at Jada's accusation, exclaiming, "Jada, I swear I've never deceived you! My wife can attest to that!"

Lucy, equally fearful of offending the Stones, swore, "That's true! He's honest, and I know him well. His family was poor, and I chose him over Severin because of Severin's poverty. And he only got out of prison a few days ago!"

Seeing their apparent sincerity, Jada nodded. "Alright, I believe you. Then his acquaintance with Henry and Larry is recent. Their friendship isn't deep."

Victor shook his head. "Not necessarily. Larry's earlier behavior suggests that targeting Severin again could provoke Draco Hall."

Jada smiled coldly. "We fear Draco Hall, but some second-tier families don't. The Horsfields, specifically Edward Horsfield."

Victor's eyes widened. "You mean?"

Jada nodded, a wicked glint in her eyes. "Easton told me Edward offered the Shanahans one and a half million dollars as Diane's dowry. He clearly still cares for Diane. To get revenge, we pit Edward against Severin!"

Easton's eyes lit up. "Brilliant! Even Draco Hall wouldn't dare offend the Horsfields. Edward could help us eliminate Severin!"

Victor considered this. "That's a possibility, but Edward is arrogant and reckless. Proceed cautiously."

"Don't worry, Dad. Leave it to me. The Liberty City project needs investors, you should focus on that," Jada said confidently.

"Right. I trust your judgment," Victor replied, relieved by his daughter's growing maturity. He added, "However, subtly guide Edward. Don't make him feel manipulated."

"Relax, Dad, I've got this!" Jada reassured him.

Lucy frowned thoughtfully. "We must ensure Draco Hall doesn't discover our plan. They fear the Horsfields, but not us."

"Indeed," Victor agreed approvingly. "An insightful observation!"

Meanwhile, at the villa, Judith worried, "Severin's late."

Diane comforted her. "He's treating a patient. Larry wouldn't have been so polite otherwise."

Judith remained concerned. "But what if his treatment fails? What if Larry's mother dies? Severin will be in serious trouble!"

Diane, though worried, said, "I believe in him. He'll be back soon."

A car pulled into the yard. Severin, Larry, and Blade returned.

"Severin! How did it go?" Judith rushed to him, taking his hand.

Before Severin could answer, Larry exclaimed, "Don't worry, ma'am! He's a miracle doctor! My mother's cured, thanks to him!"
