Chapter 138

"I'm going to make it up to her by throwing her a wedding in the future!" Severin clenched his fist. "You're a disgusting pig! I'll beat you for humiliating my wife and insulting her parents!"

"Haha. You're just talking. Do you really dare to hit me? You wouldn't! The Shanahans couldn't protect you if you did. But I can absolutely have my bodyguards beat you for humiliating me!"

Rufus stepped forward, positioning himself before Severin. He tilted his head slightly, displaying a smug expression.

Severin had tolerated Rufus's behavior because Diane and others had urged him to do so. However, he found Rufus incredibly annoying. He looked at Diane. "Honey, I want to beat the crap out of him. Can I? He's too annoying!"

"What a coward. Do you need your wife's permission? Are you even a man? Haha!" Rufus roared with laughter.

"Diane, look at you. What kind of man have you chosen? Why such a coward? You've wasted five miserable years. You should have been with me. Life would be better with me," he sneered.

Diane clenched her fists. Initially, she'd intended to ignore him. But Rufus's cruelty struck a nerve.

Enraged, she yelled, "Severin! Beat the crap out of him! I'm so angry! You're not a coward!”

"Punch!" Severin, having waited for this moment, landed a punch squarely on Rufus's nose.

A loud crack echoed as Rufus flew backward, landing heavily on the ground.

"Ouch!" Rufus landed on his buttocks, feeling excruciating pain. He touched his nose; blood flowed freely.

"I'm bleeding! Oh my god!" Rufus cried out. "You useless bodyguards! What are you waiting for?"

The bodyguards, having enjoyed the spectacle, reacted only after Rufus's scolding. They charged toward Severin, fists raised.

"Ahh!" Felicia and the others recoiled in fear.

"You—you really hit him?" Diane instantly regretted her actions, seeing Rufus bleeding.

Her rage had clouded her judgment. She'd assumed Severin wouldn't act, even when she urged him, knowing her anger.

Taking a deep breath, she said, "It's alright. As Severin said, the damage is done. Besides, we're the Shanahans. I doubt Rufus would dare fight us."

This did little to comfort Felicia, who nearly fainted. "You stupid girl! What are you thinking? Your grandmother hasn't accepted him yet. Do you think she'll offend the Chavez family because of him?"

"Mom, don't worry. I'll take responsibility. The Shanahans will help," Severin said.

"Fine. Remember that. Don't involve my daughter!" Felicia stated. [The sentence about FindNovel.net is removed as it's an advertisement]

"Come on, Mom. Let's go buy our cars at Audi!" Severin smiled faintly.

"That's right! We're not buying from here! Lousy attitude!" Felicia glared at the saleswoman and walked away proudly. "Hmph! I don't believe you can afford it. What a bluff!"
