Chapter 143
"Look at them! Just look at them!" Maryam stressed, angrily stomping her feet as Diane and her family entered the house.
Honestly, she'd hoped Diane would remain with Severin, that stubborn woman clinging to him. Only then could Maryam continue to insult and belittle them.

Unfortunately, she'd missed Severin ruining the wedding. Hearing about it afterward, she regretted her absence. Had she been home, she would have attended, relishing the spectacle. She could have witnessed Diane marrying the man she'd insisted on, a prime opportunity for humiliation.
"Diane's amazing! Another rich kid after her. But who is he? I've never seen him before," a maid whispered at the door.

This enraged Maryam further. Gritting her teeth, an idea struck her. She rushed to find Catherine and George.
"Grandmother, Uncle George! Stanley, you're here too!"
She found them at her grandmother's villa, enjoying tea. Catherine noticed Maryam's panting. "What is it? Something wrong?"
Maryam smiled. "Grandmother, I think Diane's seen the light."
"Seen the light? What do you mean?" Catherine asked, frowning curiously. George and Stanley shared her curiosity.
Maryam sat down. "Diane's with a rich kid who bought three cars—one each for her, Megan, and Felicia. Limited edition Audi ABs, two hundred thousand dollars apiece!"
"That expensive?" Stanley, another Diane detractor, was shocked. His car, though decent, paled in comparison. Catherine's insistence on frugality meant his car cost around a hundred thousand dollars.
