Chapter 145

After Diane and Severin entered the house, she quickly released his wrist. A rosy red hue appeared on her cheek.

Severin felt happy and lighthearted, as if he'd just eaten honey, when Diane called him "honey." He was surprised she blushed after such a short time holding his hand; after all, they already had a daughter. (Please remove the promotional text.)

Nonetheless, Diane was pregnant because of an accidental encounter. She'd never had another relationship before, so her shyness was understandable.

Furthermore, she had maintained her integrity except for that night with Severin. This is why she still felt shy.

"Diane, what did you call me just now? Can you say it again?" Severin approached with a smile and asked.

Diane rolled her eyes. "Nothing. What did I call you? Are you hallucinating?"

Surprisingly, Selene ran over and looked at Diane. "Dad, Mom is lying! She called you 'honey.' Mom, didn't you say it's wrong to lie? Why are you lying?"

Diane looked at Selene's confused expression helplessly. She was speechless.

After a moment's thought, she squatted down and explained, "I'm an adult. Sometimes adults tell white lies, but children aren't allowed to lie. Do you understand?"

Selene pouted, seemingly understanding. "Oh. So adults can lie, but children can't. I see."

Everyone found this amusing.

Felicia, growing fonder of Selene—especially as her granddaughter—said, "Selene, come here for a hug!" However, Selene hid behind Diane, peeking out cautiously. She seemed scared.

Felicia was embarrassed. "You silly girl, why are you scared of me?"

Megan relaxed on the couch, exclaiming, "Damn, that felt good! Maryam was always sarcastic to Diane and us. Her face turned black when she saw our three luxury cars!"

"It felt great," Felicia agreed. "She never liked Diane and always tried to undermine her. What a lunatic!"

William entered, carrying tea. "Judith, Maurice, here's some tea."

Maurice quickly stood up and bowed slightly. "You're too kind, William! Oh, this is our first visit, and I forgot to bring a gift. It all happened so fast"
