Chapter 57

Blade was elated. "Oh yeah! Why didn't I think of that? Our supreme leader is here; we have nothing to fear if he's willing to help!"

Larry nodded. "Correct! He must be extraordinarily unique to lead the twelve halls!" He ordered, "Find out where he lives. We can visit tomorrow or the day after. Remember, our supreme leader is our divine existence. Mind your words and avoid angering him."

Elsewhere, Severin spotted a tastefully decorated restaurant. He decided to have dinner there. Seeing it from afar, Judith frowned and whispered to Maurice, "This place looks super expensive"

Maurice looked at Severin and Diane ahead. "Don't mention it. Severin's clothes today are just as expensive—he only has eighty-five thousand dollars left from the hundred and ninety thousand he got from the Orwells. The car must be expensive too, probably around ten thousand dollars!"

Judith gasped, stifling a cry. She hadn't realized how expensive the clothes were until now; a chill ran down her spine.

Seeing Judith's distress, Maurice quickly covered her mouth. "Diane suffered for five years. She deserves this. It's Severin's first time treating her and Selene. Just overlook the expense. Don't make a fuss when the food arrives. Stay calm."

Judith nodded. Maurice released her. The promotional text "Search the findnovel.net website on Google to access chapters of novels early and in the highest quality" has been removed as it is out of place in the narrative.

"Sigh, the gap between rich and poor is too big. Diane comes from an upper-class family, and I feel our son isn't good enough for her!" Judith lamented. "But she's a good woman. She raised Selene alone without telling us, and helped us despite her struggles. Severin needs to treat her well."

"He's mature enough to know what he's doing," Maurice smiled.

"Grandpa! Grandma! Hurry up!" Selene called from the restaurant door.

"Coming!" Maurice replied excitedly.

"Selene is such a good girl! So adorable!" Judith smiled.

At the restaurant, Severin led them to a window table.

A waitress approached. "Welcome, sir. Here's the menu."

Severin examined the menu and frowned. The cheapest dishes were nearly a hundred dollars, the most expensive in the hundreds. Red wine ranged from one thousand to four thousand dollars a bottle. Five years ago, such prices would have shocked him, but now they seemed insignificant compared to his bank balance.

"Order whatever you want, honey," Severin said to Diane, placing the menu on the table.

Judith noticed the exquisite décor—a nearby stage with a piano and a pianist. Her worry about the expense was understandable.
