Chapter 77

Jada's face flushed with anger. She never anticipated interference from Draco Hall, their intolerance shocking. That night, however, defeat was her only option. Her family, though third-tier, couldn't afford to provoke Draco Hall; even second-tier families wouldn't dare.

"Hehe, Blade sir," she said awkwardly, "I only wanted to teach Severin a lesson after he embarrassed me. I swear our restaurant doesn't scam people! But since you're letting Severin go, we'll respect your decision!" She conceded.

Soon, Blade and his two hundred men left.

Once they were out of sight, Jada asked One-Eye, "What happened? Why did Draco Hall appear so suddenly?"

One-Eye signaled his men to rise, then said viciously, "It's because of an underling who owed one of their men tens of thousands of dollars and hadn't paid. They grabbed him and chopped off a finger. They refused my offer to repay the debt!"

Easton exclaimed, "Damn! Severin's lucky! That debt is why Blade came, investigated, and let Severin go because of the injustice!"

"Yeah!" One-Eye fumed. "I wouldn't have let that kid go otherwise!"

"Okay," Jada said. "Thanks for your hard work. It's late; take your men to rest. I'll transfer seventy thousand dollars soon. Consider it medical expenses for your subordinate's finger and the other injuries."

Jada allowed One-Eye and his men to leave.

"Severin was asking for it," Easton gritted, "If we get another chance, we won't let him go!"

Jada frowned. "I think there's more to it. Blade wouldn't have brought so many men just to collect a debt. Chopping off a finger? That's excessive for money."

"What are you saying?" Easton disagreed. "Do you think Blade helped Severin escape? Why would he do that?"

Jada nodded. "Blade was polite to Severin, calling him 'Mister Severin.' Their relationship might be more than we think. If we harm Severin, we might offend Draco Hall. They're one of the three underworld forces, and while the Stones are powerful, we can't afford to offend them."

Easton scoffed. "You're being cautious. If Severin were as capable as you think, we wouldn't have imprisoned him. He's only been back a couple of days. How could he know someone like Blade?"

Jada remained unconvinced, noting Blade's noticeable respect for Severin. "Why 'Mister Severin'? It doesn't sound right."

Jada felt the incident was more complex than it seemed; Blade appeared to have specifically come to help Severin.

Easton mused, "I know why. Severin knows Mister Henry, head of the Longhorns! Who wouldn't curry favor with someone close to a first-tier family? Blade might look like a brute, but he's meticulous. He was polite to Severin because of Henry!"

Jada changed the subject. "Why did Mister Henry treat Severin to lunch? It's the expensive villa that bothers me. Why give it to Severin? Find out why!"
