Chapter 90

Judith was scared and embarrassed by Severin's words. "What's wrong with Severin? Why can't he just tolerate it? He shouldn't bluff and talk nonsense just because he's angry!" she thought.

Both Maurice and Judith were embarrassed by Severin's outburst.

"Dad, Mom! Stay out of this," Severin insisted. "I'm a man of my word! Otherwise, how will they know Diane made the right choice?"

Felicia's anger flared. "Hey, kid, you like to bluff, do you? Fine. Show me! I'm giving you a month. Let's see if you really have the money. If you fail, you promise to divorce my daughter and let her marry Edward! Do you dare to bet on it?"

She glared at him angrily. "Since you want to act, I'm going to expose you!"

Severin didn't back down. "Fine! A month! But if I fulfill the dowry and throw Diane a wedding, what will you do?"

Felicia scoffed. "If you actually do it, I'll admit you as my son-in-law, accept that my daughter married you, and you're not just a live-in son-in-law!"

Megan added, "Severin, think carefully. You have to divorce my sister if you fail!"

Unexpectedly, Severin replied immediately, "No!"

Felicia sneered. "Why? Regretting it already? Haha. You were the one bluffing. Why are you regretting it so fast? Scared to bet on it? Slapping your own face already?"

Felicia knew Severin couldn't afford that much money. He was bluffing. Her heart swelled with joy at exposing his lies. Judith and Maurice lowered their heads and sighed.

However, things didn't go as planned. Severin said, "No, no, no! It's too easy for you to just accept Diane's marriage and me as your son-in-law if you lose. That's not enough!"

Felicia's face fell. "What else do you want?" She'd never seen a son-in-law talk to his mother-in-law like that.

Severin smiled. "You need to apologize to me. Admit you were wrong and that your son-in-law is a talented man!"

Felicia agreed. "Fine! If you can do it, we will apologize! But you have to fulfill your promise: seven million dollars in dowry and a grand wedding—one that won't disgrace our family. Got it?"

"Deal!" Severin smiled confidently. "One month, right? I'll give you the dowry within a month. As for the wedding, I need to pick a date!"

Felicia laughed. "Haha! Keep bluffing! I thought you wouldn't back down until you tasted failure."
